The player will explore a variety of locales in Pokémon Let’s Go Pickachu & Eevee. Each town and city presents a new challenge, opportunity, and trial to overcome on the path to becoming the ultimate Pokémon trainer.

While not an in-depth walkthrough of the game, this guide will provide some general tips and things to keep in mind when visiting each place. Each town or city is meant to impart some lesson or assistance when it comes to becoming a better trainer, and it’s important to know what the player should watch out for.

11 Pallet Town

Pallet Town can be seen as a soft tutorial for the game. The player is tasked with exploring and wandering into trouble in order to receive the starter Pokémon. Here Professor Oak will charge the player with beating the Elite Four and filling the Pokédex.

It’s a good idea for the player to visit the character’s mom to receive a Town Map before moving forward. Apart from that not much happens here.

10 Viridian City

Viridian City is where the player obtains Professor Oak’s parcel sending them back to Pallet town. Afterward it’s where the Trainer School is located with some handy tips, a mysterious Gym that can’t be entered, and a path leading to either the Indigo Plateau, which can’t be accessed, or north to Viridan Forest.

This is a great spot to stock up on Pokéballs, Potions, and heal Pokémon at the Pokémon Center. Later in the game the player will fight the final Gym Leader who utilizes Ground-type Pokémon. The player should have a strong team of fighters by then.

9 Pewter City

Pewter City is where the player encounters their first Gym. Brock fights with Rock Pokémon, so having grass or water Pokémon is highly suggested. There’s a Bulbasaur in the Viridian Forest that’s perfect for this matchup.

There’s also a museum in town that has a rear entrance accessed with the move Cut, which is obtained later on. A scientist will gift the player with Old Amber that will be used in Cinnabar Island later on. It’s important to learn typing matchups in this city and start developing a balanced team of different types moving forward.

8 Cerulean City

Cerulean City is where the second Gym is located and it’s entirely Water based. Again, Bulbasaur is a handy Pokémon to have here. If the player didn’t get one in Viridian forest then an old woman will gift one to the player if they have 30 Pokémon in their Pokédex.

The Tamer should be visited to strengthen the player’s partner Pokémon with powerful moves. There’s also a woman willing to trade a regular Rattatta for an Alolan rattatta. Apart from that the player should explore and talk to everyone, and keep in mind that Lures can be obtained after beating the Gym leader, Misty.

7 Vermilion City

Vermilion has the third Gym, which will involve battling Electric-types, and it also has a puzzle to solve before reaching the leader. Having a Ground-type Pokémon is very handy here, but the player will need Cut from the S.S. Anne before being able to reach the gym.

There are trainers galore looking trade. Squirtle, Arcanine, Persian, and an Alolan Geodude can all be acquired this way.

6 Lavender Town

Lavender Town is where the Pokémon Cemetery is located, though it can’t be traversed until the player has a Silph Scope, which is found in Saffron City later on. Inside are several Ghost-type Pokémon, so having some of the Alolan Pokémon from earlier towns with Dark moves will be very helpful here.

This area has a ton of items for the player to obtain from various NPCs so it pays to talk to and battle everyone. Ghost-type Pokémon are also powerful in this game, so the player should make sure to grab one or two before abandoning the town entirely.

5 Celadon City

The fourth Gym is located here and it’s packed with Grass types. Having the Charmander or Arcanine from earlier helps a lot. There’s a Fortune Teller that can determine the Nature of all Pokémon found in the wild, which is really useful. The Rocket Game Corner can be used to pick up unique Pokémon and some cash.

A move tutor is located here to teach more moves for the player’s partner Pokémon. But the real prize of Celadon City is the massive Department Store where a ton of useful items can be purchased.

4 Saffron City

Saffron City has a Fighting Dojo where the player can grab a fighting Pokémon after beating the gauntlet of trainers there. An Alolan Raichu can be traded for as well, and it comes with powerful psychic moves that are handy for many fights in this game.

Silph Co is home to a number of Team Rocket fighters so having a strong team is important, and it nets the priceless Master Ball as well as the Silph Scope for Lavender Town. The Gym is full of Psychic-types which are strong in this game, so having a few Ghost, Bug, or Dark-types can help out a lot.

3 Fuchsia City

The Gym located here uses Poison-type Pokémon so having Ground and Psychic-types will be ideal. There’s another partner move tutor here and a trainer willing to trade for an Alolan Marowak. It’s important to grab the moves Sea Skim and Strong Push here to progress further in the game.

There is a Go Park where players can view the Pokémon they’ve caught in Pokémon GO. It’s not really helpful in-game, but it is a nice perk to view the fruits of your hard work in another game.

2 Cinnabar Island

There are a lot of things to do on this Island. The Gym is full of Fire-types, and between Lures and Sea Skim there are tons of ways to get strong Water-types. The Lab is where the player can take Old Amber, Dome and Helix Fossils to be revived into living Pokémon.

The most interesting part of this island is the mini-dungeon, Pokémon Mansion. It contains an interesting bit of lore and a number of powerful Fire-type Pokémon can be caught here.

1 Indigo Plateau

The last city or town the player will visit is Indigo Plateau, where the Elite Four are located. The first champion is Lorelei, who utilizes Ice-types so the player wants Fire, Fighting, or Ground-types to counter. The second champion is Bruno who uses Fighting-types, so Flying or Psychic-types will be useful.

Agatha employs Ghost-types, so having Dark or Psychic-types to counter will help. The final champion Lance uses Dragon-types, so having a Dragon or Ice-type is the best counter. The final champion is the player’s rival and they will use a mix of types. It’s best to have a strong and balanced team to fight back using everything learned in the previous areas of the game.
