When Nintendo and Game Freak released Pokémon Sword and Shield last year, it introduced players to a whole new area, new story, Pokémon, characters, and more. Fans fell in love with many of the new elements added to the franchise, in particular, the new punky character of Marnie.

Just when players thought Marnie couldn’t get any better, it was revealed that she was the younger sister of Piers, Spikemuth’s gym leader, beginning a whole new fan obsession with the two siblings. The love for this brother-sister duo knows no limits and there are some super talented fans out there who have created some adorable artwork of the two characters. Check out ten of the best pictures below.

10 Just For You

Marnie’s trademark Pokémon is her adorable little Morpeko. Her League card explains that as a child she was often a crybaby, and so her brother gave her a Pokémon and this made her more cheerful. Her rare League card further explains that Piers caught Morpeko and gave it to Marnie when she was five. This absolutely adorable fan art by Fuwari_mimf depicts this touching moment.

Morpkeo is an Electric/Dark-type that is subject to mood swings when it gets hungry, where its form changes color and its cute little face turns angry.

9 Sharing Chores

While we see plenty of the glitz and glamor of Piers’ and Marnie’s life as Pokémon trainers and gym leaders, it’s cute to imagine their more mundane side of life. Their parents are never mentioned at all during the game, so fans have assumed that Piers has raised Marnie since she was a little girl.

This lovely fan art by 1__gam  shows the brother and sister duo sharing their chores. Considering both characters have a penchant for gothic clothing, it must be a nightmare sorting through the washing to find out what’s what.

8 Bedtime Lullaby

Following on from that idea that Piers raised Marnie, kuroko_061960 has created an adorable scene of Piers singing his little sister to sleep when they are both younger. Furthermore, Piers’ Pokémon are in their earlier-evolutionary forms to show the time difference.

The details in this picture are so good, such as Marnie’s blanket being reminiscent of Morpeko’s coloring and the Rotom phone playing the music for Piers to sing to. This artist has done quite a few images of Piers and Marnie together, so be sure to check out the rest of their gallery.

7 Big Bro’s Biggest Supporter

This fan art by MEIJI_PKMN gives fans an insight into the siblings’ past, imagining what it would have been like when Piers tackled the Galar gym leaders to earn his own badges. Piers may have been a little annoyed that his uniform didn’t reflect his own fashion tastes though.

In this picture, Marnie still looks a little afraid and easily upset, so she’s obviously still working through her feelings with the help of her little Morpeko and her loving big brother. Despite being scared, she’s still there to support Piers.

6 Spikemuth Siblings

Both Piers and Marnie are such standout characters as their punky/gothic fashion mix is so bold. The whole town of Spikemuth shares the same aesthetic, and the entire community seems so supportive of both their gym leader and his little sister.

This fanart by morimokimori shows the siblings wearing the “Go Go Yell!” t-shirts, and even the little Morpeko is shown supporting Spikemuth. As iconic as they are, these two aren’t too cool to show their love for their home town.

5 Double Trouble

Piers and Marnie are style icons; without a doubt, their fashion sense is unique to them and their cool little town of punks. As Sword and Shield’s setting, characters, and fashion are heavily influenced by English styles, Spikemuth’s aesthetic is likely an allusion to the rise of punk music in the UK in the 1970s.

This gorgeous fan art by G0M_0 is reminiscent of a band poster, which is fitting as both Piers and Marnie are musically gifted punk rockers.

4 Duet

During the game, players discover that Piers offered Marnie the role of Spikemuth gym leader, but she turned it down so that she could try and become the new champion. Piers supported her decision and even sent Team Yell to support her throughout the championship.

However, at the end of the game, Marnie finally accepts her place as the new gym leader and takes over from Piers. When she does this, Marnie gets an awesome new outfit, as shown here in this fan art by FinniChang.

3 Baking with Brother

Artist dolustoy gives fans another insight into what normal life with the Spikemuth siblings is like behind closed doors, with this adorable image of the two characters baking together. It’s really refreshing to see the characters out of their usual element.

The details in this image are super cute too, such as Marnie’s apron having the angry/hungry Morpeko face on it, the perfect choice for a baking apron. Additionally, Morpeko is just off to the side and looks super happy to see the tasty cakes.

2 Alleyway Artists

The style of this fan art by kanekoshake is absolutely adorable and it’s one of those pieces where every time you look at it, you notice a new detail that you hadn’t seen before. Looking for all of the hidden Pokémon in this image is quite fun and they are all super cute too, such as the baby Toxel.

It’s not hard to imagine that after a hard day of performing/Pokémon battles, Piers has crashed out in the alley by his gym, where Marnie finds him sleeping with his Pokémon.

1 Sing Me a Song

This fan art by Naz2251 presents an incredibly touching moment where Piers is playing a song on his guitar and singing along, while Marnie and her little Morpeko watch. You can almost imagine Piers telling his little sister that he has a new song that he wants her to hear.

The soft lighting in this image makes the scene all the more emotive and the style of the art is truly gorgeous. A tender moment between the two siblings is perfected captured here.
