The Isle Of Armor expansion released just a couple of days ago, and it adds a bunch of new content to Pokémon Sword and Shield. Players will want to take a powerful party of Pokémon with them to complete this expansion; however, it is also worthwhile to catch a bunch of new creatures to form a different team.

These tips will guarantee the best party possible for taking on this Dojo DLC, and players will be able to fly through it without any problems at all. It is also important to build a powerful Pokémon party for the postgame of this expansion because players will be able to take on a new form of content called Restricted Sparring that will require many different Pokémon to be under the player’s command.

10 Always Keep Kubfu Or Urshifu In The Party

Kubfu and its Evolution Urshifu are two new Pokémon that were added with the Isle Of Armor DLC, and players will want to keep them in their party during the main story of the isle of armor.

Players that are visiting the island and completing the story should always keep these Pokémon in their party, because leveling it up will be essential to completing the DLC, and it is also a powerful Pokémon in general that players should attempt to max out in terms of stats.

9 Collect The Alolan Diglett And Obtain Alolan Pokémon

The Alolan Diglett side quest has players scouring the entire island looking for a bunch of Alolan Diglett that have run off from their trainer.

Collecting all of these, Alolan Diglett will reward the player with many different types of Alolan Pokémon that can only be caught in previous games. Some of these Pokémon include Alolan Exeggutor and the starters from the Alola region.

8 Check Every Region For Pokémon

There are a few different notable regions on the island for players to visit that include many different biomes such as a desert and a forest.

Each of these different regions includes different Pokémon, and some of them are extremely powerful and hard to catch, including Rhyperior and Scizor. It is worth checking every region before assembling a party to complete this DLC, because there is a lot of variety on the Isle Of Armor.

7 Catch The Giant Wailord

When players first arrive at the Isle Of Armor, search around in the water to find a giant Wailord. It is the pre-evolution of Wailmer, that is well above the levels of the other Pokémon found within the DLC.

Most notably, this Wailord is a level 80 that can decimate any enemy that may come the player’s way while completing this expansion pack. Although this Pokémon will be difficult to catch, it is still worth it because of how powerful it is compared to some of the other creatures found on the island that are only around level 60.

6 Explore The Tiny Islands

There are a few tiny islands scattered throughout the outskirts of the Isle Of Armor that players can explore and even find hidden items on, such as TRs.

A lot of Pokémon also make their home on this island, and players will find Pokémon that they may not be able to catch elsewhere, including Combee. It is worth exploring all of these because there are some rare Pokémon that players won’t get a chance to catch if they don’t visit every island that the expansion has to offer.

5 Collect All Of The TRs

There are a bunch of TR’s within the Isle Of Armor expansion pack that players can find by exploring all the different crevices that the island has to offer. TRs are similar to TM’s; however, they are only usable once instead of an unlimited amount of times. Players will want to find all of these and teach them to the Pokémon that suit their type best. There are also some TRs to collect from the Cram-O-Matic machine in the dojo.

One of these includes the notable TR Overheat, which is a Fire-type move that can be found in the Workout Sea. Make sure to search every path for potential moves to teach the party!

4 Diversify The Party And Make Sure There Are Flying, Fairy, Or Psychic-type Pokémon On The Team

The Isle Of Armor is full of powerful Fighting-type trainers that are ready to battle the player with creatures that will put up a fight.

As such, players should diversify their team and make sure that they have some type of Pokémon that is super effective against Fighting-types. Some of the best Pokémon to catch are Combee and Jigglypuff, as these two will both be super effective against any Fighting-type Pokémon that may come the player’s way, and they are both found on the island.

3 Evolve Galarian Slowpoke Into Slowbro

Galarian Slowbro is one of the only new creatures that players will be able to obtain in the Isle Of Armor, and it is a powerful Pokémon with a dual Psychic/Poison-typing.

Every player that is a fan of either of these two types will want to catch this Pokémon, and it will be especially useful for completing the DLC since it is a Psychic-type that is powerful against Fighting-type Pokémon. Players can evolve Slowpoke into Slowbro by feeding it a Galarica Cuff, which can be obtained by finding 8 Galarica Twigs and giving them to a woman off the coast of the dojo itself.

2 Farm Max Soup

Max mushrooms are required to craft a Max Soup, which will allow trainers to Gigantamax their Pokémon for a specific battle.

Players can farm these mushrooms around the island and then use them to craft the powerful Max Soup item that they can then give to their Pokémon. Even if it is time-consuming, it is completely worth it because of the powerful advantage that trainers will gain by Gigantamaxing their Pokémon.

1 Obtain Porygon After Defeating Mustard

Porygon is a rare Pokémon; it has been this way since generation 1 as it has always been a difficult creature to obtain.

Players can obtain a Porygon after they defeat Mustard for the second time by talking to Hyde and asking him about the Porygon in the room. Hyde will then offer to give the player the Porygon, and the player will then be able to level it up and evolve it as they see fit.
