Dewpider is a bug-water type arachnid Pokémon. Admittedly its stats leave something to be desired. However, this chain has a strong defense, and with the right tactical prowess can get the better of its unsuspecting opponents. Here’s where to catch one in Sword and Shield.

Where to Find and How To Evolve

Dewpider is reasonably common in the overworld, wandering the Stony Wilderness region of the Wild Area. It can also be found along the Motostoke River Bank and Route 5, but the chances are much slimmer.

Dewpider also appears in 1-2 star max raid battles. Dewpider raids are hosted within dens throughout the Dappled Grove, Dusty Bowl, Lake of Outrage, Rolling Fields, South Lake Miloch, West Lake Axewell, and Bridge Field regions of the Wild Area.

Once caught, Dewpider evolves into Araquanid simply by raising it to level 22.

A Physical Prowess

Given this chain’s meager special stats, Dewpider and Araquanid should stick to physical attacks such as Liquidation or Leech Life, both of which have additional effects that can help turn the tides of battle. Bug Bite is a move this Pokémon can learn early on. It deals physical damage and gives the user any effects from berries the target might be holding.
