Gossifleur is a flower Pokémon with solid defense and special defense stats, making it a great addition to trainers’ Sword & Shield team early on. Trainers who like special attack techniques in battle should read on.
Finding Gossifleur
The first area trainers can run into Gossifleur is on Route 2 along the Lakeside, on the way to the Professor’s house. Incidentally, they are a special random encounter along this route, spawning at levels 37-40, so trainers shouldn’t bank on catching one on their first run-through.
Gossifleur next crops up on Route 3. Here it spawns in the overworld, no matter the weather. Beginning trainers will have better luck here as the spawns are only levels 10-14. They can also be seen roaming the overworld along the Motostoke River Bank in the Wild Area during ’normal weather.'
Evolution & Recommended Moves
Gossifleur evolves into Eldegoss at level 20, at which point the Pokémon’s special defense shoots up, and its special attack becomes its best offense. With that in mind, Eldegoss’ Hyper Voice is one of it’s strongest moves. Being a normal-type move, it has the benefit of hitting opponents harder than Eldegoss’s typical grass-type attacks. Leaf Storm is an excellent choice for quickly ending a battle, but use it with caution as it also lowers the user’s special attack stat significantly. Aside from learned moves, trainers should think about teaching Eldegoss some TM’s like Solar Beam or Giga Drain.
