The next Pokémon to add to your Sword & Shield Pokédex is Mantyke. The process is thankfully easier here than it is in past games. Back then you had to breed to get any Baby Pokémon, sometimes with the help of special items. Wave Incense was, and still is, the item required to breed a Mantyke. But there’s another way. Read on to find out.
Where To Find Mantyke In Sword & Shield
Mantyke will often be seen jumping around in bodies of water. Just ride your bike, with its aqua tires, over to the spot where it’s jumping to encounter it. The best places to look are Route 9, Lake of Outrage, and Motostoke Riverbank.
How To Evolve Mantyke Into Mantine
Mantyke evolves into Mantine when it levels up and you have a Remoraid into your party.
What Mantine Does In Battle
If you’re looking to use Mantine as a fighter, there’s one thing to consider above all else: Electric-type Pokémon. Mantine is Flying and Water-type, so it’s double weak to those Thunderbolts. On the other hand, that odd typing makes it stronger against Grass-types than other Water-types. It also gives it access to a somewhat varied moveset including standards like Scald, Hurricane, and Defog.
