Mienfoo is a bit of an investment. You know how there are a bunch of Pokémon that just don’t evolve until you’re basically already done with the game? Mienfoo is one of those. You have to REALLY love this Pokémon in order to get the most out of it, and that means training it as hard as it needs.

But if you do put the time into Mienfoo, you can wind up with an extremely potent Fighting-type that you’ll be proud to give a place in your squad. Lets go track one down.

Where To Find Mienfoo

If you don’t have The Isle of Armor expansion for Sword & Shield, then your only option is to trade with a player who does have it or transfer one from an older game using Pokémon HOME.

Isle of Armor owners will be happy to note that they can catch a Mienfoo of their very own at Challenge Road. Both Mienfoo and its evolutionary form, Mienshao, can appear on Challenge Road, but Mienfoo is far more likely to spawn. Mienshao will rarely spawn during snowy weather, while Mienfoo can appear in all weather.

You can also find Mienfoo and Mienshao in Max Raid Battles at Fields of Honor, Challenge Beach, Challenge Road, and Honeycalm Sea.

How To Evolve Mienfoo Into Mienshao

Remember that talk about investment? Mienfoo doesn’t evolve into Mienshao until it reaches level 50. That’s quite the task, but luckily, Mienfoo isn’t too awful a fighter on its own.

What Mienshao Can Do In Battle

Regenerator makes Mienshao an ideal Pokémon to swap out and swap in when the going gets tough. This ability will help it regain one-third of its health every time it switches out. Combine that with U-Turn and you don’t even need to waste a turn manually swapping out Mienshao.

Other than that, Close Combat is your best on-type move, while moves like Rock slide, Blaze Kick, and Poison Jab provide great coverage against all sorts of threats.
