Remember Mega Flygon? No, you don’t, because it doesn’t exist. Sadly, Flygon must remain as an underpowered Dragon/Ground-type. It’s still a popular Pokémon with a fun design, however, so you might want to add it to your Sword & Shield team. Here’s where you can find it in Generation VIII.

Where To Find Trapinch In Sword & Shield

Trapinch can spawn on Route 6 as a wandering Pokémon in both games. However, Shield players have a better chance of finding one. They also get the additional option of finding one in the Wild Area’s Hammerlocke Hills during a sandstorm.

How To Evolve Trapinch Into Flygon

Trapinch evolves into Vibrava at level 35 and Vibrava becomes Flygon at level 45. Alternatively, you can look for a wild Flygon around the Dusty Bowl or Lake of Outrage during intense sun or a sandstorm. Again, Shield players will have better luck.

What Flygon Does In Battle

Flygon is fast and has decent Attack, but it lacks strong moves that aren’t Dragon or Ground-type. As such, Trainers don’t have much room to make creative builds. Instead, give it the old standards like Dragon Claw and Earthquake. That said, Flygon can use Defog to get rid of entry hazards like Spikes or Stealth Rock. That alone could justify a spot on a competitive team.
