Tympole has a typical frog-like evolution. It grows from a legless baby tadpole through an awkward teen phase. Once it is fully developed, however, Siesmitoad can easily change the tides of battle. It’s dual water and ground-typing makes this Pokémon a unique addition to an aquatic trainer’s Sword & Shield team.

Locating and Evolving Tympole

Tympole isn’t overly abundant, but it’s not rare either. The best place to go Tympole hunting is in the Dappled Grove within the Wild Area. The tadpole Pokémon regularly spawn in the overworld here during rainfall and thunderstorms. They also frequent the overworld around the West Lake Axewell during ’normal weather.'

Once captured, it’s a simple matter of training to evolve one. Tympole evolves into Palpitode at level 25, then Siesmitoad at level 36.

Best Battle Tactics

Siesmitoad has a high physical attack, but doesn’t learn many physical moves on its own, so utilizing some TMs is recommended. Bounce combats its deficiency against flying-type adversaries, while Facade’s attack power of 70 doubles when the user is poisoned, paralyzed, or burned.

Siesmitoad’s special attack stat isn’t anything remarkable, so its best-learned moves are ones that have additional benefits. Consider Muddy Water or Bubble Beam, which may lower the opponent’s accuracy or speed stats.
