Cramorant is a bizarre Pokémon. Its appearance suggests a typical Water and Flying-type bird Pokémon. In particular, it’s based on the way some birds fly to a body of water, dive, and come up with a whole fish to eat. In fact this nature affects how Cramorant battles. Is that an extremely specific reference? Yes. Is Pokémon eight generations in and in need of ideas? Also yes. Nevertheless, here’s how to find Cramorant and what it can do for your team.

Where To Find Cramorat

Cramorant shows up in Sword and Shield in equal measure. The best place to find it is in Route 9’s tall grass. Otherwise, it can occasionally be seen flying around Axew’s Eye, Bridge Field, Lake of Outrage, and Stony Wilderness in the Wild Area. Although in those places, rain will be needed.

What Cramorant Does In Battle

Cramorant’s claim to fame is its Gulp Missile Ability. When it uses Surf or Dive, it will come up from the water with something in its mouth. Sometimes it will have an Arrokuda, other times it will have a Pikachu. The next time Cramorant is hit with an attack, it will spit up its “meal.” This will damage the opponent, also lowering their Defense in Arrokuda’s case and paralyzing them in Pikachu’s.

Other than that, Cramorant is your typical Water/Flying-type. It learns all of the usual bird moves like Hurricane and Roost. Surf is essential as its Water-type move due to Gulp Missile. As a fourth move, you could go with Defog to clear enemy hazards.
