Passimian is the famous rugby monkey Pokémon introduced in Sun & Moon. In those games it was a very rare spawn confined to one specific patch of grass in a jungle. It returns in Sword & Shield with the exact same behavior, only this time it spawns in a magical forest. To find out where to get Passimian, read on.

Where To Find Passimian In Sword & Shield

Passimian is exclusive to Pokémon Sword. Shield players will need to trade for it. Oranguru is the Shield-exclusive equivalent, and so will probably a good offering.

If you own Sword, go to the Glimwood Tangle. Search around the tall grass in the forest. You might have to look awhile as Passimian has a low spawn rate, but you’ll eventually get one from a random encounter.

What Passimian Does In Battle

Passimian is a Fighting-type, which means lots of attack power. It also has a pretty varied moveset, however, allowing it to meet several threats. Smogon recommends Trainers go all-in with Close Combat as its Fighting-type move. It also suggests Knock Off to counter Psychic types and control opponents’ item use. Moves like Earthquake or Rock Slide can deal with other common threats or just deal good damage. Finally, U-turn lets it exit a bad situation.
