Sigilpyh comes to Pokémon Sword & Shield from the fifth Generation. It hasn’t changed much in that time. It doesn’t have an evolution, and didn’t get a Gigantamax form. It does have one advantage in battle, however, in the form of Magic Guard. But we’ll get to that in a moment. For now, let’s look at where you can find Sigilyph in Sword & Shield.

Where To Find Sigilyph In Sword & Shield

Sigilyph stick to the Wild Area, which means you’ll need to spend some time exploring to find one. Fortunately, they’re often flying around right out in the open. Just ring the bell on your bike or whistle if they’re too high, and they’ll come to you. Check Dusty Bowl, Lake of Outrage, Motostoke Riverbank, and Stony Wilderness for Sigilyph sightings.

What Sigilyph Does In Battle

Sigilyph can have an amazing Ability called Magic Guard. This blocks any damage that isn’t from direct attacks. This means you can’t damage it with conditions like poison or weather. This can shut down an opposing Pokémon’s entire strategy, or even a team’s.

That said, Siglyph is a Psychic/Flying-type. This makes it weak to many common attack types like Dark, Ghost, and Rock. Its defenses aren’t great, meaning you need to take care to switch it out fast. Its Special Attacks is pretty good, though, so it can rock a good Psychic or Dazzling Gleam.
