An ENFP is the perfect person to lead a Pokémon team to Victory. ENFPs, according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, are extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving types, which means their guideline for life is to make decisions based on emotional considerations. One of the most rewarding things for an ENFP is to see others succeed because of the support and encouragement they’ve provided. ENFPs tend to be creative types that excel at reading the behavior of others because they possess extraordinary emotional intelligence.

Due to this unique spread of traits, ENFPs have been dubbed Campaigners. How would an ENFP fare as a Pokémon trainer though? Moreover, what Pokémon would best suit this unique personality type? These six Pokémon were chosen for the ways they complement and support the ENFP, resulting in a strong and diverse team of hopefuls, friends, and outcasts.

6 Psyduck

Psyduck requires a trainer that is patient and supportive. Since it is constantly racked by headaches, it holds its hands on its head out of pain. Many trainers avoid it because they believe it to be dimwitted and slow, but it’s just misunderstood. Certain trainers who are willing to take the time and be friendly towards it will help lower its anxiety caused by its frequent migraines. Despite its Water-typing, through supportive training, Psyduck can learn to control its psychic powers and reach its full potential as a fully evolved Golduck.

Since ENFPs loved to be relied upon, and want to help others reach their potential, especially when the path ahead is arduous, Psyduck is the perfect choice.

5 Swadloon

Swadloon is a Grass Bug-type that campaigners love.  Swadloon won’t immediately be receptive in battle. It prefers cold and dark places away from other Pokémon. An ENFP recognizes that not everyone is as sociable as they are, but they possess the awareness to accommodate new friends who have a tough time fitting in. Swadloon is a solitary Pokémon that hides under a protective leaf, meaning it requires a trainer that knows to give it space. In return, the Pokémon will never complain about traveling in a Poké Ball, since its lifestyle is mobile.

What’s awesome about Swadloon, is its evolution Leavanny will repay the kindness an ENFP shows it by acting as a nurturer. Leavanny can create clothing from foliage, and help smaller Pokémon adjust and grow. As a result, an ENFP will have a lifelong friend in Leavanny.

4 Cubone

Cubone is a Pokémon that may shrug off companionship but desperately needs it. Any ENFP would be driven to protect Cubone from its natural predator Mandibuzz, since this Pokemon has the saddest backstory of the series: it wears the skull of its deceased mother on its head. Cubone is by no means defenseless. It fights the hardest when it becomes saddened by its mother’s death. But like most stubbornly independent types, Cubone becomes even stronger when its willing to accept help.

Some trainers aren’t up to the task of training Cubone, but not ENFPs. They are natural empaths that can give Cubone the support it needs to finally put it’s mother’s death to rest. While no Pokémon trainer can replace Cubone’s mother, an ENFP’s friendship and unconditional love make that pain easier to bear. What’s the ENFP’s ultimate goal? To see their friend overcome their grief and evolve into Marowak, the fighter its always been.

3 Drampa

Drampa is an enormous flying dragon that is known for its compassion and friendliness to other Pokémon and people. While not the exact foil to an ENFP, Drampa is a social and nurturing soul. Despite living high in the Alolan mountains, it makes the journey to hang out with children in the villages. This also makes it a compelling choice for an ENFP, since it loves to be social and spend time with people.

Because of its gargantuan size, Drampa can protect smaller Pokémon, though whenever its friends are threatened its emotions can take over. An enraged Drampa will lay to waste an abusive person or Pokémon with its fiery breath. Drampa’s destructive power in moments of distress gives the ENFP a reality check on the consequences of emotional overload. Despite this, Drampa is known as the placid Pokémon and can teach the ENFP how to remain calm in distressing situations.

2 Slowking

The ENFP is intuitive, while Slowking is logical and analytical. Thanks to mind-altering Shellder venom, Slowking possesses incredible intelligence rivaling that of its fellow trainers. Owing to this Pokémon’s reputation as lazy and patient, it does not stress when challenges arise: it takes its time and works through them. For the ENFP, Slowking is a lifesaver because it allows them to breathe and focus on the emotional well-being of other vulnerable Pokémon. Some Slowkings are even capable of speech as shown by Pokémon The Movie 2000: The Power of One. When the ENFP cannot make a decision, the wise old Slowking can provide guidance and help its trainer make a sensible choice.

1 Meloetta

Meloetta is a powerful Mythical Pokémon, though it’s more than just an impressive collection of stats. Meloetta can sing beautiful music and in the Pokémon universe has existed as a kind of ever-present muse for artists and singers alike. Musicians can be inward in the creation of their music, but their performance is public, shared, and helps bring people together. As much as ENFPs are goal-oriented, having Meloetta on their team gives them an excuse to stop and listen, or stand up and dance when the Pokémon gets going.

Its magical ability to alter the emotions of the listeners means ENFPs can rely on Meloetta to cheer them up. This is especially important since ENFPs become easily invested in the plight of others, which can dramatically affect their moods. Having Meloetta on their team means ENFPs can happily support the team without risking burnout.
