Pancham was one of the most adorable Pokémon introduced in Generation 6, and that is both because of its panda appearance and martial art abilities. Some fans absolutely adore Pancham, but they may not know too much about this creature and its personality in general.

There are many things about Pancham that were easy to miss while playing through Pokémon X and Y, and it’s never too late to learn about this Fighting-type panda. Pancham and its evolution Pangoro are some of the best creatures from Generation 6, and fans can learn so much about this cute Pokémon if they dig deeper into its stats and lore.

10 Pancham Will Evolve When It Reaches Level 32 If A Dark-type Is On The Player’s Team

Pancham evolves into the powerful Pangoro when it is leveled up to level 32, and the player has a Dark-type Pokémon present in their party.

This requirement is very different from a lot of other Pokémon evolutions from the Kalos region; however, it shouldn’t be too difficult since Dark-types are plentiful in Generation 6 and every other generation as well.

9 Pangoro Takes Pancham’s Leaf Away If It Misbehaves

Pancham’s leaf is one of its core traits in terms of appearance; however, Pangoro will take this leaf away if Pancham misbehaves. Pangoro acts more like a regular parent to Pancham than a lot of other Pokémon in the franchise.

It seems that Pangoro wants to discipline Pancham in a way that will make sure that it will become a disciplined and powerful fighter that will be able to defeat Pokémon that are more powerful than itself.

8 Pancham Has A Base Attack Stat Of 82

Pancham has a base attack stat of 82, which is its highest stat, and this means that players should focus on teaching it only physical attacks.

Luckily, Pancham has a lot of physical attacks that it can learn in its moveset because it is a Fighting-type. Players should avoid teaching Pancham many special attacks because they will do much less damage than their physical attack counterparts; however, it is sometimes a good idea to diversify the moveset.

7 Pancham Can Learn Surf - 90 Damage

It may be surprising to learn for some Pokémon fans that despite the fact that Pancham is a Fighting-type, it is actually able to learn the Water-type attack Surf. This attack does 90 damage, which is quite a lot considering that such a small Pokémon can learn it.

Surf also has a 100% accuracy rate, which makes it even more of a powerful attack, and any trainer that is considering catching a Pancham or already has one in their party should definitely teach it Surf.

6 Pancham Stands At Around 2 Feet Tall

Pancham is only 2 feet tall, which may come as a surprise for some Pokémon fans that expected it to be closer to its evolution Pangoro in terms of height.

Although Pancham is tiny, as previously mentioned, it has a high attack stat, which means that it still has a lot of physical power. Pancham is absolutely adorable, and its small height adds to this to an extent, which is one good reason that some trainers choose not to evolve it at all.

5 Pancham Wasn’t The First Panda-Themed Pokémon

Pancham actually wasn’t the first panda-themed Pokémon, which seems peculiar since there aren’t any other Pokémon in the franchise prior to Generation 6 that resembles a panda in appearance. Spinda is actually considered to be a panda-themed Pokémon, although it does look closer to a rodent.

Some fans question why Spinda is even considered a panda in the Pokémon world; regardless, most fans assume Pancham to be the first panda-themed Pokémon in the series, but that simply isn’t the case.

4 Pancham Has A Medium Leveling Rate

Pancham has a medium leveling rate, which is good for players that went to level it up at higher levels. Although Pancham’s leveling rate could be faster, it is pretty quick considering that it is one of the strongest Fighting-type Pokémon in the Kalos region.

If a player wants to catch a strong Pokémon early during their journey in Pokémon X and Y, then Pancham is definitely the best bet since it doesn’t take too long to level up.

3 Pancham Desires To Be Taken Seriously

Fans can find out by reading Pancham’s Pokédex entries that it wants to be taken seriously; however, a lot of wild Pokémon often don’t consider it to be a threat at all.

Pancham will lock eyes with its opponents and attempt to stare them down; however, many creatures aren’t very intimidated because of Pancham’s small-size and adorable appearance. Occasionally, Pancham is able to scare Pokémon that are even smaller than it, such as Caterpie.

2 Pancham’s Design Was Likely Inspired By Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda is a popular media franchise, and some players think that Pancham may have been based on it based on general similarities. Pancham and the main character Po from Kung Fu Panda are both martial art pandas, and that is their main similarity.

This theory definitely makes sense, and considering that a lot of children love the Kung Fu Panda franchise, it makes even more sense that Gamefreak would decide to design a Pokémon based around it.

1 Pancham Has A 50/50 Gender Chance

Pancham’s gender chance is split 50-50, which is great for fans that want to catch either gender for breeding or any other reason. Some players prefer to have a specific gender for their Pokémon, and Pancham makes it easy for players to get whichever they desire.

Since Pancham is such a popular Pokemon, especially in Generation 6, it was great for players to be able to catch whichever gender Pancham that they desired.
