Whilst dragon-types Pokémon look cool, they all serve different purposes. Which makes it pretty difficult picking the perfect companion. So why not use your MBTI to find the ideal Pokémon to be at your side.

There are 72 dragon-type Pokémon to choose from in all the generations of fantastic Pokémon games. This makes it almost impossible to find the one you love as well as the one that suits your playstyle. Some want to catch them all and some are looking for power. Luckily, with dragon-types, you get the best of both worlds. Nevertheless, finding the ideal companion can be hard, so why not use your MBTI to choose for you?

Your MBTI is an exploration of your personality. It explores your strengths, weaknesses, and even your relationship with others. Which is why it’s an ideal way to find the perfect dragon-type Pokémon.

16 INTJ: Zygarde

One of the main reasons as to why this pairing is ideal is that INTJ’s are typically a jack of all trades. Therefore, it would only make sense to place INTJ’s with a Pokémon like Zygarde who has multiple forms.

Whilst Zygarde can change and become a jack of all trades, both INTJ and this Pokémon are open-minded and rather analytical. So when it comes to battles, the two of you can work like clockwork.

15 INTP: Rayquaza

The INTP personality embodies imagination and enthusiasm. They love creating worlds and stories for others and are typically creative. However, that also comes with a lot of second-guessing and withdrawal from society as they have doubts about their skills.

This is why Rayquaza is so perfect. It is a strong and enthusiastic Pokémon who is often just as private as an INTP, often being known to distance itself from the world by flying in the ozone layer.

14 ENTJ: Axew

Whilst energetic and adorable, Axew is also pretty strong-willed and efficient when it comes to battle. Something that ENTJ’s pride the most out of a companion.

It should be noted that Axew isn’t the strongest Pokémon in the world but the personalities of both ENTJ’s and Axew align so perfectly that this pairing just makes sense. Both are intolerant to negativity and energetic and strong-willed to spread positivity wherever they go.

13 ENTP: Haxorus

ENTP’s are quick thinkers, they look for a companion who is varied and as knowledgable as them so they can test their opponent’s skills. This is where Haxorus comes in.

A powerful Pokémon who values knowledge overpower and will turn argumentative if made to do something immoral. Just like Haxorus did to Iris in the animes, it will become insensitive to your commands, but being an ENTP, you’ll know how to handle it.

12 INFJ: Shelgon

One of the most prominent traits that INFJ’s have is that they’re inspiring. Their passion and determination inspires everyone around them, so they need a Pokémon that can help keep that determination going, inspiring everyone they can on the way.

No one is more determined than Shelgon who is constantly trying to improve and spends its time always trying to evolve. With Shelgon as your companion, that drive and passion will always remain prevalent.

11 INFP: Dragonite

The beloved Dragonite fits the bill perfectly for this personality. Both are hardworking, openminded, and far too selfless. This is why you need a Pokémon who is equally as hard-working but will keep you safe since INFP’s are so selfless they forget to take care of themselves.

Dragonite works as a deliverer in the animes and films but remains open-minded and determined when a trainer catches him too, meaning that you will both get on wonderfully.

10 ENFJ: Kingdra

One of the main traits that come with being an ENFJ is being a natural leader, and nothing screams leader like a Pokémon with king in the name.

However, this isn’t the only reason that this pairing is ideal. Both are reliable and pretty selfless so you can both lean on each other and become a force to be reckoned with in battle. Since Kingdra is a surprisingly powerful Pokémon.

9 ENFP: Drampa

Based on a Chinese dragon and known to enjoy watching over humans and taking care of children, the observant and curious trait that comes with ENFP’s just makes this pairing ideal.

Both enjoy watching over the happenings around them and will often find it hard to focus on their own goals because of this. However, with Drampa at your side, that focus will remain where it’s needed.

8 ISTJ: Kommo-o

This Pokémon is one that is said to have gone through meticulous training to get to the power it is at when you capture it. Therefore it is rather disciplined which is perfect for the ISTJ’s who value law and order over anything else.

ISTJ’s love doing things by the book and can be extremely stubborn when this doesn’t happen, so to have a Pokémon like Kommo-o who is extremely disciplined means you’ll have no trouble enforcing the law.

7 ISFJ: Dialga

Just like Dialga, ISFJ’s are supportive, they enjoy working hard towards their goals and need a Pokémon to keep them going and inspired. With a companion as powerful and awesome as Dialga, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Moreover, both are reluctant to face a change, which is where this time-stopping Pokémon comes in. You can’t face a change if time stops right!

6 ESTJ: Noivern

This cool dragon-type has a little bit of a temper, it can come off as rather aggressive, However, this is nothing an ESTJ cant handle.

Being dedicated and stubborn, ESTJ’s and Noivern will end up working well together. After all, both find it hard to relax and are consistently looking for the next thing to do, which will keep Noivern out of trouble.

5 ESFJ: Dragonair

The wonderful Dragonair is undeniably warm and kind. Just like the ESFJ personality, Dragonair has a strong sense of duty and a known gentle aura to keep everyone around it happy.

The reason these two work so well together is due to how selfless they are, as previously mentioned this pairing need each other since they often forget about looking after themselves.

4 ISTP: Flygon

By only looking at Flygon you instantly assume that this Pokémon is energetic and excitable. This is exactly why this pairing is ideal, especially with both of you being spontaneous and relaxed when it comes to challenges.

With a powerful Pokémon like Flygon, you can fight battles with ease, however since both are bored easily, it’s important to make sure that a fight is needed to win some challenges, or both will end up taking some unnecessary risks.

3 ISFP: Salamence

Salamence is undeniably passionate. This Pokémon is a favorite among most fans and players so it makes sense that it would come under the ISFP personality.

ISFP’s pride themselves on being charming and passionate, they use their sensitive nature as a way of making themselves loveable and sweet. Yet just like Salamence and despite the way they portray themselves, they are extremely independent and unpredictable.

2 ESTP: Zekrom

When Zekrom comes to mind, many think evil. However, only ESTP’s can look past that dark side and see a bold and rational Pokémon who is dedicated to aiding their trainers.

Both are impatient when it comes to people messing them around and are pretty sociable to the ones they give their time to, but if that is hurt in any way then they are relentlessly defiant until that loyalty can be earned again.

1 ESFP: Goodra

Goodra is an adorable Pokémon who only really has great people skills due to it being so dopey that you can’t help but love it. However, those people skills only make it more perfect for ESFP’s.

Both are observant but can be pretty unfocused at times, especially during conflict where Goodra often forgets its move and instructions.
