With 69 ground-types to choose from, it can often be particularly challenging to pick one that’s perfect for you. So why not let your D&D alignment choose for you?

Ground-type Pokémon are pretty variable– they all look rather different and provide the player with a completely different style of skills & moves. However, due to them all being so unique, it can be particularly challenging to find the right one for you, but this is where your D&D alignment comes in.

Your D&D alignment says a lot about you. It tells you all about your personality, goals, and how you go about achieving them. It can also show you which character you would be in your favorite TV show, or even your favorite type of Pokémon.

9 Lawful Good: Golurk

Golurk resembles a soldier, more specifically a gladiator. They are powerful and respectable, whilst also being particularly disciplined.

This is exactly like the lawful good alignment in which they do everything they can to do help and protect others. Golurk radiates good, truth, & loyalty, making it a perfect companion and representation of the lawful good alignment.

8 Neutral Good: Cubone

Cubone is extremely cute but has one of the most tragic backgrounds in the entire franchise. Nevertheless, it remains one of the kindest and most loyal Pokémon in the games.

Neutral good is all about doing the best for people according to their needs, something that Cubone can greatly aid you in. This Pokémon is kind, cute, and would do everything they can to help you in battle, no matter how horrible its backstory.

7 Chaotic Good: Sandile

In the anime, Sandile can be rather mischievous and sometimes troublesome, but will protect one of its own until the end. This is extremely similar to the chaotic good alignment.

Sandile would be perfect for chaotic goods since it is so protective and loyal towards the people it thinks deserves it. It also loves causing a little bit of chaos and will protect the good, even if it is to spite the ‘bad.’

6 Lawful Neutral: Torterra

Due to Torterra’s grassy & one-with-nature aesthetic, it is easy to assume he is calm, disciplined, and lawful. This would be a correct assumption as he is often so still that smaller Pokémon live on the shell on its back.

What makes Torterra so perfect for the lawful neutral alignment is how disciplined he is when it comes to battle. Whilst still packing a punch, Torterra remains loyal, lawful, and willing to act in accordance with the law & its moral code.

5 True Neutral: Piloswine

It is a common misconception that the true neutral alignment is boring when it can actually be the most enjoyable to play. Especially because of its unpredictability.

This is why Piloswine is so perfect for any true neutrals. It is loyal, often helping Ash and his crew in the anime, while calm, somewhat seen as the relaxed and carefree Pokémon. However, just like true neutrals, Piloswine has a powerful side and can hold its own in battle.

4 Chaotic Neutral: Numel

For the most part, fire types either controlled and disciplined, or the exact opposite. For example, Charizard and Houndoom are chaotic while Charmander and Vulpix are calm and kind. Numel falls somewhat in the middle of this, which is what makes it perfect for chaotic neutrals.

Albeit somewhat dopey looking, this Pokémon essentially has a volcano on its back, forcing it to have a rather unpredictable look. Numel is also stubborn, not moving when hungry and slowing down when wet. Stubbornness is something it shares with chaotic neutrals.

3 Lawful Evil: Landorus

Nothing screams lawful evil like Landorus. He is designed to look like a genie and most certainly has that intimidation factor that most evil alignments are looking for.

When it comes to playing D&D, most lawful evil alignments are searching for power– be that through world domination, power over a town or city, or even just control over one person in particular. This is why Landorus would be perfect for control and power. Especially in a battle.

2 Neutral Evil: Steelix

Neutral evils are in the middle of the evil alignment– they look for power and control like the lawful evils but also don’t mind causing a little chaos in their wake. This is where Steelix comes in to help you achieve everything you want to achieve.

Steelix is powerful and intimidating by nature. After all, who wants to come face to face with a 30-foot tall iron snake?

1 Chaotic Evil: Runerigus

This abstract Pokémon is ideal for any chaotic evils. Its entire body highlights the madness and chaos that this alignment love causing whilst still containing an overwhelming amount of power.

Runerigus is a rather new Pokémon, introduced in Pokémon Sword & Shield, but that only highlights how perfect it is for the chaotic neutrals who just can’t sit still & are always striving for something  better than what they had before– no matter how much that annoys their DMs.
