Pokémon has been around for more than 20 years, and thus has garnered a huge fan base. Kids still love it and adults grew up with it and enjoy the games to this day.
Everyone has their favorite types too. A unique and fan favorite type is the Fairy-type. It was added when Pokémon X and Y came out. This added both new Pokémon and changed the typing of some that dated back to the first generation.
Fans love this type because they typically are pink and adorable. Also, their moves are super effective against Dragon-type! Some dedicated fans like to get tattoos of their favorites, so here are 10 Fairy-type tattoos they’ve gotten!
9 Clefairy
Clefairy is one of the veteran Pokémon, dating back to the first generation in Kanto. A lot of theories surround them, such as them being aliens from the moon and their shadows turning into Gengars. From their round pink bodies to their little wings, their design is easy to fall in love with.
This tattoo was done by bexlowetattoos, a Pokémon fan who does both Pokémon tattoos as well as fan art. This particular design looks like the Clefairy is holding a Moon Stone.
Mr. Mime
Mr. Mime is like Clefairy in that its a first generation Pokémon. It is not pure Fairy-type though, as it is also Psychic-type. They are also less known as cute and more known as unsettling.
This tattoo looks pretty psychedelic, which is on-brand for the artist, Steven Compton. His other pieces also use a ton of color.
8 Fairy-Type Trainer
Tattoo enthusiasts aren’t limited to just Pokémon. They can do trainers too! This particular design, done by Laura Anunnaki, is unapologetically pink, cute, and glittery. It is rich with color as well as familiar Fairy-type Pokémon like Sylveon, Togepi, and Jigglypuff. There is also a Clefairy hair clip. Also notice the Ditto at the bottom to add to the pink explosion.
The trainer is even holding what appears to be a Love Ball, a definite must-have for any trainer that loves cute designs.
7 Mimikyu
Half Ghost-Type and half Fairy-Type, Mimikyu has the best of both worlds. It is both spooky and cute. A Pikachu wannabe, and one that a lot of fans empathize with in its desire to be loved and accepted.
All these things make it a fan favorite, and a popular tattoo choice. This particular tattoo was done by artist Davis Rider of Los Angeles.
6 Sylveon
When fans think of Fairy-types, it is typically Sylveon which fit pops into mind. The Eevee evolution was announced around the same time as the new type for the X and Y games. It is a Fairy-type in every aspect from its pastel colors to the how it evolves through affection.
This Sylveon was done by carlatattoos. Her styles range from minimalist to pastel cuteness.
5 Alolan Ninetails
Region variants are more recent than Fairy-types, but it has given a rise to new Fairy-type Pokémon. In Sun and Moon, Vulpix and Ninetails got its Alolan form which is both Ice and Fairy-type.
This unique design shows both Ninetails and a couple of Vulpix. It was made by Brando Chiesa from Italy, and he as a talent for doing realistic (and sometimes horrific) renditions of anime creatures and characters.
4 Jigglypuff
Jigglypuff is a Normal-type that turned into a Fairy-type. It is known for singing is opponents to sleep. Its design is well loved,as its as round as a balloon and has giant eyes with a pink body.
With that kind of design, making it a Fairy-type was a obviously good choice. This tattoo, done by Carly Kawaii Kroll, made its adorable look even cuter with a rainbow and bow. As her name hints, most of her tattoos revolve around kawaii pop culture.
3 Floette
Along with the Fairy-type introduction of X and Y came Floette. It evolves from Flabébé and later turns into Florges. Its flowers come in different colors, and its a type of Pokémon that plays a small role in the plot of the X and Y games.
The artist of this leg tattoo is cammiyutattoo. Besides Pokémon, she also does a lot of Disney, Studio Ghibli, and video game tattoos.
2 Togepi
Togepi is known as the egg Pokémon. It hatches and slowly evolves into a pretty powerful Fairy and Flying-type: Togekiss. It was made popular both from the games and through the anime show.
This Togepi was done by a tattooist who excels in everything cute and pastel: pastelxghoul. Other fandom tattoos they’ve done include Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Wars, and Toy Story.
1 Wigglytuff
Wigglytuff evolves from Jigglypuff. Its ears get long and rabbit-like and it gets more of an oval-shape rather than staying totally round.
