As if the fast-approaching December Community Day event wasn’t reason enough to be excited for next month’s Pokemon GO festivities, the December Field Research Breakthrough reward has been revealed. In a manner similar to the aforementioned event, this Field Research Breakthrough will encompass most of the Pokemon previously featured throughout the year. The only ones to be excluded are Body Slam Snorlax and Shedninja, November’s Field Research reward.

This means that Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Suicune, Raikou, and Entei are all featured Pokemon for Pokemon GO’s December Field Research Breakthrough reward. Of course, the reward will be random, but this is a great opportunity for those who have missed any throughout the year. All players need to do is focus on completing Field Research tasks daily and luck.

Players will want some luck because if they only missed one of the aforementioned legendary Pokemon, then they only have a 1/6 chance of getting the one they need when claiming the breakthrough. These Pokemon GO rewards will begin on December 1, 2018 at 12 PM PT/ 3 PM ET and end on January 1, 2019 at the same time.

Nevertheless, for those who haven’t missed any of these rewards, it’s another chance to get some candy. After all, Moltres and Entei are stand-outs in Pokemon GO’s raid battle meta, with each featured legendary viable in various situations. Having another chance to increase their CP is hard to pass up, so it’s likely a wise decision on Niantic’s part.

Lastly, this may not be all that players have to look forward to in December. If Cresselia’s presence in the Raid Boss rotation suggests anything, it could very well mean the fan-favorite legendary Darkrai will be available as a Raid Boss when Cresselia rotates out. It seemingly appears that Niantic has stacked the deck for its Pokemon GO players this December, so fingers crossed that the mobile ARG ends this year on a high note.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
