After a few months of stagnant Research Breakthrough Rewards, Pokemon GO players are going to be very excited to hear that a new rotation is arriving starting on July 1. Although Latias and Latios will still be in the mix, the other two options are much more exciting than the current rotation for a lot of trainers.
In addition to Latios and Latias, Pokemon GO trainers will also be able to earn Research Breakthrough Reward encounters with Kyogre and Groudon. Both of those Pokemon are incredibly important to the PvE metagame and neither one has been available as a Research Breakthrough reward before now.
Players have a few days left with the current Breakthrough Rewards and the upcoming rotation will begin on July 1, 2019.
Although Research Breakthroughs are usually popular, it seems like this batch will be even more likely to motivate trainers to keep up those streaks and complete Field Research on a daily basis. To earn the special research breakthrough encounters, players just need to earn 7 stamps, by completing regular field research tasks that are collected from Pokestops.
“From July 1, 2019, at 1 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) to September 1, 2019, at 1 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), Latias, Latios, Kyogre, and Groudon will be available as Research Breakthrough encounters.”
