Pokemon GO has been in the process of rolling out a new patch for the last few days with some exciting additions and improvements for trainers around the world. In addition to the super convenient ability to sort the friend list, players are also able to earn Lucky Pokemon. Although the feature took a little longer to appear than some players expected, it is now definitely live.
Many players started trading with friends as soon as they download this week’s patch, with the hope that they would obtain their first Lucky Pokemon. Unfortunately, the feature didn’t actually go live until after the update had been pushed out to all users. This caused some drama in the community, but the feature is live now and Lucky Pokemon are being powered up with that sweet 50% Stardust discount.
Here’s a look at the official confirmation from the game’s social media channels…
Now that the feature is live, players have a chance to trigger a Lucky trade when swapping Pokemon with a friend. The chance of the trade resulting in two Lucky Pokemon is greatly increased when one of the Pokemon being traded is very old. So far, the best results seem to come from having a 2016 Pokemon involved in the trade on one side.
As players continue exploring the feature, we’re sure we’ll learn more about how exactly it works. For now, it’s a bit of a gamble, but the payoff is significant if you end up with a Lucky that is worth powering up.
We’ll continue to monitor the new feature and post updates as more details emerge. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
