We’re just days away from the March Pokemon GO Community day. This month, the event will be centered around the Generation 3 Grass-type starter Pokemon Treecko. During the event, the featured Pokemon will spawn more frequently, there’s a better chance of a shiny Treecko popping up, and anyone who manages to fully evolve their Treecko to Sceptile will be rewarded with an exclusive move.

March Pokemon GO Community Day begins globally on March 23rd and will run from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in each player’s respective time zones. A Gorvyle that evolves into a Sceptile during the event, and up to 1 hour after it, will obtain the exclusive move Frenzy Plant. Along with all of the Treecko content, players can also enjoy 3-hour lures and 1/4 hatch distance for their incubators.

This month’s Pokemon GO Community Day begins just a few days before another one ends, potentially making this weekend very busy for Pokemon GO fans. The Spring Equinox event began on March 19 and is set to finish up on March 26. Since the point is to mark the coming of spring, Grass-type Pokemon are at the heart of this event. Players can expect to see Pokemon like Oddish, Exeggcute, Sunkern, and Shroomish roaming about, and they have the opportunity to learn a few new moves.

As usual, the  March Pokemon GO Field Research tasks and rewards are specifically tailored for the equinox event. Keeping with the theme, they are centered around Grass-type Pokemon, and mostly involve catching or evolving them. There are four new Field Research tasks, and some are giving worthwhile prizes for completing them, so Pokemon GO players will want to check it out.

As if all of that wasn’t enough, the two Pokemon that have been regularly moving between regions, Lunatone and Solrock, will be shifting their location once again during the equinox event. This time around, both will be switching hemispheres. To get players even more motivated to go out and catch these Pokemon, shiny versions of Solrock and Lunatone have been added to the game for the first time.

Pokemon GO is out now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
