A new month is just a few days away, which means the Pokemon GO community is about to have a new theme of field research to tackle. The bug-themed Research Breakthrough gives players a chance to earn an encounter with Shedinja in November, but that isn’t the only Bug-type to be excited about.

In addition to the bug-themed Research Breakthrough, Pokemon GO players are also going to have a chance to catch a shiny version of Caterpie for the first time. Caterpie’s whole three-step evolution family should have shiny version available starting on November 1.

Here’s a look at all three new shiny creatures…

The Caterpie family is not particularly exciting or relevant to the meta-game, but the Gen-1 Bug-type is popular amongst fans for nostalgia’s sake. Because of that, many completionists will still be tracking to track down the new shiny, even if it won’t ever be used in a Battle Party.

Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community.

Pokemon GO is currently available in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
