Part 2 of Pokémon Journeys will be hitting Netflix on September 11th, 2020 with the English dub. This will include Episodes 13-24.
The last episode to drop on Netflix ended with a Gigantamax Drednaw attacking Wyndon Stadium, but Ash, Goh, and surprisingly Team Rocket decide to act in Episode 13. Ash, the newly crowned Champion of Alola, and his friend Goh will be attempting to battle it. Now, fans of the dubbed anime will have to wait in just less than a month to find out how they do, according to GameRant.
The release of the series was delayed by the Coronavirus as the Japanese studio had to shit down, but western Pokémon fans can finally start catching up! The Japanese counterpart is currently at Episode 32 (Episode 33 if you read this on August 16) so the Netflix version is lagging behind by a few months. It is currently airing in Japan every week.
While you wait for the next episode, you can watch Episodes 1 -12 for the first time or you can have a rewatch party! Just make sure you grab a few Rare Candies to eat before you binge them! They first released on Netflix on June 12, but it may take a while to get another batch after Part 2, as the streaming service likes to release episodes in a big lot. This is to keep that mantra of binging shows at home alive rather than waiting weekly like traditional TV.
Upcoming episodes of Pokémon Journeys will feature fighting-type trainers Bea from Sword and Shield and Korrina from X & Y, and Pokémon such as Celebi.
Western fans of the series will have to wait longer for the upcoming movie, Pokémon Coco as well. It was originally going to come out during the Summer for Japan, but it was pushed back to Christmas Day, due to the Coronavirus. Let’s hope that the virus blasts off again sometime soon and we get a theatrical release for the flick (or at least a Netflix release shortly after it comes to Japanese theaters). AMC Theaters is reopening with The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run, so maybe this is a possibility?
