Wynaut is a Gen 3 baby pokemon that evolves into Wobbuffet, well-known for both its status as a comic relief character in the Pokemon anime and its unique moveset. If you’d like to have some fun with these odd psychic types in Sword and Shield, here’s how you can add them to your team.

Where To Find Wynaut In Sword And Shield

Wynaut cannot be found in the wild. Instead, the only way to get one in Galar is to have a Wobbuffet breed while holding the Lax Incense item. Incense can be bought in Hullbury in the outdoor market (located below the pokecenter down some stairs). You can catch a Wobbuffet to breed with in several locations throughout the game, but you’ll have the highest odds of finding one (55% ) in the Dusty Bowl or Giant’s Mirror area during foggy weather. There’s also a pretty good chance to find it during normal weather in Hammerlocke Hills.

How To Evolve Wynaut Into Wobbuffet

You can evolve Wynaut into Wobbuffet by getting it up to level 15.

What Wobbuffet Does In Battle

Wobbuffet is a… special pokemon. It can’t learn a single offensive move: it’s only means of dealing damage is through Counter and Mirror Coat. Because of this unique quality, Wobbuffet has one of the highest base HP stats in the game. A solid recommended moveset might be Counter, Mirror Coat, Encore, and Destiny Bond, since it contains all three of Wobbufet’s potentially damage-dealing moves (if you count Destiny Bond’s knockout conditions as dealing damage) and a way to force opponents to attack so you can counter.
