Everyone loves a good Electric-Type Pokemon. From the mascot of the series, Pikachu, to the cute Mareep to the powerful Electivire, Electric-Type Pokemon get plenty of love and for good reason. Among the reasons for their popularity is their notoriously high Speed stat. In addition to being able to generate thousands of volts from their bodies, Electric-Type Pokemon can move at lightning-fast speeds.

This makes sense, as lightning strikes in a flash, and electricity moves through appliances in an instant. This brings the discussion to today’s topic, the 10 Electric-Type Pokemon with the highest Speed stat. The Pokemon database, Serebii, and the competitive Pokemon hub, Smogon University, will be primary sources for this topic.

10 Thundurus

Thundurus is the Bolt Strike Pokemon and is a Legendary Electric and Flying-Type Pokemon originating in Generation V and the Unova Region. It forms a trio with two other Pokemon, the Flying-Type, Tornadus, and the Flying and Ground-Type, Landorus. Each of these has an Incarnate Form and hidden Therian Form, but it’s Thundurus’ Incarnate form that has the higher Speed stat.

Thundurus’ base Speed sits at 111 and maxes out at 353. Despite being a Legendary Pokemon, Thundurus sits in the Rarely Used tier, but it has made some inroads in the UnderUsed since being reintroduced into Generation VIII.

9 Raikou

Raikou is the Thunder Pokemon and is a pure Electric-Type. It is a Legendary Pokemon that was introduced with Generation II in the Johto Region. Like Thundurus, Raikou is part of a trio with the Water-Type Suicune and the Fire-Type Entei.

Raikou’s base Speed sits at 115 and maxes out at 361. Also like Thundurus, Raikou currently sits at Rarely Used but has seen some UnderUsed play in competitive Pokemon.

8 Starter Pikachu

Pikachu is the beloved Electric Mouse Pokemon, partner to Ash Ketchum, and the mascot of the franchise. It’s a pure Electric-Type that evolves from the baby Pokemon, Pichu, through maximizing happiness and evolves into Raichu through the use of a Thunder Stone. However, Pikachu’s usual Speed is 90, maxing out at 306.

However, there is a special Pikachu the player gets as the starter in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu that has a base Speed stat of 120 that maxes out at 372. This Pikachu isn’t used at all in competitive play, and it can’t be traded from Let’s Go Pikachu.

7 Boltund

Boltund is the Dog Pokemon that was introduced in Generation VIII in the Galar Region. It is a pure Electric-Type Pokemon that evolves from the adorable Yamper at Level 25.

As adorable as Yamper and Boltund are, they don’t see much competitive play, sitting at Untiered and Practically Useless on Smogon. Despite that, Boltund has a base speed of 121 that maxes out at 375.

6 Tapu Koko

Tapu Koko is the Land Spirit Pokemon that was introduced with the Alola Region in Generation VII. It is a Legendary Electric and Fairy-Type Pokemon that is part of a quartet with Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini.

Tapu Koko sees a lot of competitive play in the OverUsed tier, and it has an incredible Speed stat that sits at 130 at the base and 394 at the max.

5 Jolteon

Jolteon is one of the eight possible evolutions of the beloved Normal-Type Pokemon, Eevee. Jolteon was one of Eevee’s original evolved forms too, originating in Generation I and the Kanto Region. Eevee evolves into Jolteon after being exposed to a Thunder Stone. Jolteon is classified as the Lightning Pokemon and is a pure Electric-Type Pokemon.

Unfortunately for Jolteon, its popularity and impressive Speed stat still leave it in the Practically Useless tier on Smogon. Like Tapu Lele, Jolteon has a base Speed of 130 that maxes out at 394.

4 Mega Manectric

Manectic is the Discharge Pokemon and is a pure Electric-Type Pokemon that originates from Generation III and the Hoenn Region. It evolves from Elektrike at Level 26 and was one of the Pokemon to receive a Mega Evolution through the Gen III remakes, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, in Generation VI.

Manectric base Speed in its normal form sits at 105 and maxes out at 339, and it sits at the Practically Useless tier in Smogon rankings. However, Mega Manectric has a base Speed of 135 that maxes out at 405, and it’s in the higher UnderUsed tier in competitive play. Unfortunately for Manectric, Mega Evolutions were phased out with Generation VIII.

3 Zeraora

Zeroara is the Thunderclap Pokemon and was given away originally through a special event in the Alola Region games in Generation VII. It is a Legendary Pokemon and a pure Electric-Type.

It has an insane base Speed stat of 143 that maxes out at 423. It currently sits in the OverUsed tier in competitive play.

2 Electrode

Electrode is the Ball Pokemon that evolves from Voltorb at Level 25. It is a pure Electric-Type originating from the Kanto Region and Generation I. Unfortunately for Voltorb and Electrode, they are not currently available in Generation VIII and Sword & Shield.

Electrode sits at Untiered in competitive play. Despite that, it has an incredibly high base Speed of 150 which maxes out at 438.

1 Regieleki

Finally, there is Regieleki, the faster Pokemon that currently exists. It is a Legendary pure Electric-Type Pokemon that was introduced with the Crown Tundra Expansion to the Generation VIII games, Sword & Shield. This Galar Region Pokemon was introduced alongside Regidrago, a pure Dragon-Type Pokemon. The two of them are a part of an expansion to the “Regi” family of Pokemon, originating with Regice, Registeel, and Regirock in Generation III and added onto by Regigigas in Generation IV.

Regieleki has a bonkers base Speed stat of 200 that maxes out at 548 and is, understandably, in the high-ranking OverUsed tier in competitive Pokemon play. To further drive this Speed home, the next fastest Pokemon available in Generation VIII right now is Ninjask, with a base Speed of 160. It’s even faster than Speed Form Deoxys, which has a base Speed of 180 and isn’t available in Generation VIII currently.
