PONG Quest is officially available on the Nintendo Switch. Atari’s updated take on an old favorite gives the two dimensional classic new life, literally.

PONG Quest follows a young hero paddle on its mission to complete the King’s quest. The quest takes players through dungeons and faces challenges like puzzles and opposing paddles. Maneuvering through the puzzles will score paddles treasures and secrets of the Orbs, which will ultimately help unlock the mystery of the Spooky Door.

To make it through these levels players must use the other half of PONG’s legacy, the ball, which has been modified to help vanquish 2D foes. In PONG Quest players can customize their paddle, challenge people online, and even play in classic mode. Up to four players can play at a time, to make for a four sided game of PONG. This jaunty role-playing game takes elements of the classic game and dials them way up.

Paying homage to Atari over the years each of the dungeons is based on a title from the classic game developer. Nearly 50 years after the original put video games on the map, it’s great to see that PONG still has a place in today’s gaming community. This is a game that will appeal to young gamers through its fun animation and to older gamers for the sense of nostalgia.
