The global version of Princess Connect! Re:Dive will soon be hosting its very first in-game event where players can collect rewards, earn treasure boxes with valuable items, and complete missions. Earn memory shards to unlock the game’s main star Hatsune so she can be added to the roster. Follow the story of this pink-haired bubbly caster as she works to find the best present for her beloved sister Shiori.
Whether things go smoothly or end up in chaos is yet to be known, but it will surely be fun either way. The great thing about events in Princess Connect is that compared to many other events in gacha games, they are not overly time-consuming or grindy. All players really have to do is finish the initial stages and unlock hard mode, where they’ll run each node three times a day in order to get Hatsune and Shiori’s memory shards.
6 Teams To Use And Substitutions
These stages are designed to be a little tricky, so players will want to bring at least two healers with them if possible. Yui, one of the free starter units, is an excellent option. The best healer from the gacha to use would be Chika, but other girls who would work are Yukari, Kokkoro, or Misato as well. Normally it’s not recommended to bring healers to raid-style boss fights since they move so quickly but here their difficulty makes support an absolute must. Two DPS hitters are recommended as well, such as Makoto, Suzuna, or Kaori. Other good choices would be Eriko, Tamaki, Karyl, or Hiyori. One tank is necessary to bring. Options include Pecorine, Jun, Kurumi, Miyako, or Kuuka. This format was suggested to use on the events hard mode bosses and nodes, but it worked well for the normal stages as well.
5 The Reward Benefits
By doing the event, players will earn something called gacha medals that can be redeemed for boxes of valuable items. After clearing the entire box, they can reset it to get a new batch of goodies. Each lineup includes the memory shards for Hatsune and Shiori. The more boxes players clear, the better the rewards will be. The best rewards fall in the hard mode nodes which are unlocked once the normal ones are completed, similar to playing in the main story. Once players get to the fifth box there won’t be any more memory shards but instead jewels, divine amulets, potions, etc. Gacha medals are earned simply by doing the nodes in the event as well as the boss challenges.
4 Some Stats On The Main Star
Hatsune is the event’s welfare, meaning that instead of pulling her from the gacha, players can have a chance to unlock her by getting a certain amount of her memory shards from participating in the event. This backline magic-user is definitely worth grabbing for her high magic attacks, stun ability, and niche against physical attacks.
Once she gets to six stars, she becomes an excellent asset to use in Arena battles as well. Keep in mind that once the event is over, there’s no absolute guarantee for a rerun so jump on the bandwagon while it’s possible now. The Japan version of the game is working on putting in a system where older events can be played but since the global version is three years behind, players will be waiting a while for that.
3 Don’t Forget About Shiori
Let’s take this opportunity to also spotlight Shiori, the other featured character of the event. A solid backline archer, she is one of the most sought-out units from the general summoning pool for her powerful utilization in clan battles. Through her own skills, Shiori can recover her own TP (the bar that sets off their special attack when its full) and spam her special attack often as a result. Both characters can be unlocked when you collect 145 of their memory shards each. Players can do this for any unit except for limited characters, meaning those who are not in the general pool or are not added after an event ends. To unlock the character, go to the screen with all of the characters portraits and one will see the flash around the unlockable girl. Click that and players will be set to go.
2 What The 145 Memory Shard Mechanic Really Means
The unlocking feature makes this game a very free-to-play player friendly title. Gacha luck always varies but this way players can guarantee to get someone they want as long as they are in the general pool. There’s no denying that all gacha titles are gambling to a degree, but it’s important to remember that context can really vary. Are some of them just full-on pay to win and filled with paywalls? Absolutely. There’s an easy solution to that though, and it’s called not playing them. Plenty of accessible gacha games like Princess Connect and Dragalia Lost exist, players just need to seek them out.
1 Beating The Bosses
Fighting the events bosses is very similar to the bosses in clan battles and dungeons where players can have multiple chances to chip away at their high HP. Through general participation, players get a currency called boss tickets which are handed over each time players fight the boss.
The normal one costs 20 tickets apiece and the hard mode one costs thirty. The game recommends that players be at least level twenty-five to do the normal mode boss and level fifty to do the hard mode one. Hard mode drops better prizes, so players should be well leveled up if they want to get the full benefits out of the event. The duration that it runs is quite a bit, so there’s plenty of time to still get leveled up. Hatsune’s Perfect Present runs from now until March 6th, so get going!
