Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Search & Destroy has been a fan favorite multiplayer mode in the series for some time. The mode pitting two teams against one another to either set a bomb off or eliminate the opposition requires patience and good communication. While fans often make cases for which guns are best all around, like a full breakdown of the FN SCAR, pro Call of Duty player Dillon ‘Attach’ Price reveals his list for best guns in Search & Destroy mode specifically.

The playerbase for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and its battle royale counterpart Warzone, are an active community who often share ideas on what would make COD game modes better. The amount of strategy talk and optimization to be found in Reddit threads and community forums is impressive, but not surprising, given the tens of millions who have entered the fray in game. Some players keep their weapon choices and loadouts a secret, but Attach is pulling back the curtain and showing off what makes him a champion.

Attach narrows the field down to three different guns to main in Search & Destroy: the MP5 SMG, the M4A1 assault rifle, and the AX-50 sniper. He details everything about his class setups, including the attachments, perks, and equipment to give players learning the ropes a fighting chance in Search & Destroy. While these loadouts and strategies are always changing, and as new guns like the iconic Vector SMG look to take the stage in the next update, what works now may not be as effective in the future. With that said, any tips from a pro should be welcomed by players trying to gain experience or improve their K/D ratio.

After the start of Season 4 was delayed, it appears that it could be up and running as early as June 10, if dataminers are to be believed. In support of the Black Lives Matter movement, Activision felt it was not appropriate to launch a new season when attention was rightfully centered around the protests against injustice. Holding off for a week, the company seems poised to launch Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone this week. Every new season brings with it new strategies, and causes weapon tier lists to shuffle. This could lead Attach to rethink his Search & Destroy loadouts in the near future.

Knowledge from pro players is not only valuable to new players looking to gain their footing, but also for developers who can learn what works about their game from the players who play the most. Treyarch reached out to Call of Duty pros for feedback recently, and fans of the franchise should see this as a great opportunity to have COD games fine tuned to player sensibilities, ideally making for a better user experience.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
