One of the hit games from the PlayStation 5 reveal showcase, at least in novelty, was indie darling Bugsnax. With cute creatures and a catchy song, it stuck in our heads whether we we wanted it to or not. However, the Bugsnax Twitter account recently put out an oddly suspicious tweet.

The tweet is very ominous. If the end of the trailer with the weird monster that is absorbing the adorable little Bugsnax is an indication of what’s to come, the game might not be the cute and cuddly adventure that most of the trailer made it out to be. What is it that people should be suspecting? It’s time for internet detectives to comb over the trailer, and get that Kero Kero Bonito song stuck in their heads again.

Bugsnax is an adventure game that takes the player to Snaktooth Island, where half-bug half-snack creatures roam free. Players can eat the Bugsnax and turn their body parts into the food featured on the Bugsnax. Players will explore the island and uncover the mysteries of Snaktooth Island. The game features 100 species of Bugsnax. There is also some weird monster that seems to be absorbing up all the bugs, so players will probably find a way to stop that from happening.

Bugsnax appears by all accounts to be an adorable game. The developers behind Octodad: Dadliest Catch seem to have another hit on their hands. Every creature is cute, and the world is colorful and fun to explore. The trailer song is catchy and will remain in people’s heads for a while. This game just oozes personality, and the Twitter account reflects the fun personality of the game when it tweets ominous things like “Nobody suspects a thing.”

The PlayStation 5 event was excellent. Sony’s strength is balancing the promotion of its strong first-party lineup, 3rd party support, and showing off fresh and unique indie games like Bugsnax. Bugsnax will release Holiday 2020 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Until then, check out the trailer because everybody needs the Bugsnax song in their life.
