The curtains have finally lifted.
Sony just revealed to the world the new look for their highly-anticipated PS5 – and it looks like a giant ice cream sandwich. Compare that to the Xbox Series X’s resemblance to a refrigerator, and we’ve got a match made in heaven.
Jokes aside, the new PlayStation 5 design looks sleek. Sony fans are extremely excited, with comments ranging from “RIP XBOX” to “thank you playstation.” Considering the immense pressure exerted by fans during reveal events, Sony came out of this one just fine.
That’s not to say it was all smooth-sailing, however, as we still have no clue what the new console will cost us. Fans are still concerned over the potential damage the PS5 will do to the ole bank account.
Oh, and in case you missed the hardware reveal, check it out. The PS5 unveil took up about 3 minutes of the presentation – 1 minute longer than the Series X reveal trailer 6 months ago. Sony’s rendering featured an animation liken to Moses’ parting of the Red Sea.
Alongside the console itself, the trailer showcased Sony’s new DualSense controllers, wireless Pulse 3D headset, an included HD camera, and its media remote. The PS5 will also release with two different editions – Standard and Digital – the latter for those uninterested in purchasing physical copies of games.
