Premier Chinese Dota 2 side PSG.LGD have taken the championship in Season 2 of the China Dota 2 Professional League. The TI8 runners-up took down Invictus Gaming in the Grand Final, claiming the championship title and the first-place prize of nearly $117,000 USD.

CDL Season 2 took place online, beginning on April 1st. Still adjusting to the addition of Ren “eLeVeN” Yangwei and Yang “Chalice” Shenyi’s position change, PSG.LGD kicked off their league run with early losses to Team Aster and Royal Never Give Up. As the season went on, LGD began to find success with a win over Sparking Arrow, later taking down big names like Invictus and Vici Gaming.

PSG.LGD closed out the regular season with victories over Keen Gaming, CDEC, and EHOME, finishing second overall and earning themselves a spot in the play-offs. Matching up against CDEC Gaming in the upper bracket’s first round, PSG.LGD earned their semi-final appearance with a hard-fought 2-1 victory. They next met Royal Never Give Up, and took down the top seeded team to advance to the Grand Final.

Invictus Gaming had made an impressive run through the lower bracket to earn a Finals appearance. iG took game one of the Grand Final, though were silenced as LGD won the next three - each in less than 30 minutes - to take the best-of-five series.

PSG.LGD take home the China Dota 2 Professional League Season 2 championship title, and the nearly $117,000 USD grand prize. Both LGD and iG will next compete in ESL One Birmingham: China, which will also take place online.
