Last December, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC received the desert map Miramar, which also signaled the game’s exit from early access. While the Xbox One version will likely stay in early access for the time being, the desert map Miramar is coming to the platform nevertheless, with a release date officially announced on a recent episode of Inside Xbox.

As announced on Inside Xbox, the desert map Miramar for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is having its proper Xbox One release on May 24. The map is roughly the same size as the Erangel map that is already in the game, but features completely different terrain, new vehicles, and new weapons.

Mirmar is coming to the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds nearly five months after its PC launch, and about a week after it was available on mobile. Its release will see PUBG on Xbox get closer to its PC and mobile counterparts in terms of content, though the game will still be lagging far behind the PC version, even when Miramar is added next week.

After all, the PC version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is already testing a third map for the game. The new map, called Sanhok, is much smaller than the other PUBG maps, and is set on a jungle island. Considering how long it took the Xbox One version of PUBG to get Miramar, though, fans shouldn’t expect to see Sanhok hit the console until late this year, or maybe even early 2019.

Beyond new maps, the PC version of PUBG also has special limited time events that, to date, haven’t been available on Xbox One. Once Xbox One receives more content, like when the Miramar desert map becomes available on May 24, it’s possible the developers will start running limited time events for it as well, though that remains to be seen.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now for Android, iOS, and PC, and through early access on Xbox One.
