On February 22, two new cosmetic crates were added to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and they are lookin’ sweet.

For the February 22nd update, PUBG is getting two new loot crates that you can crack open and adorn your virtual avatar with some trendy new looks. With the coming spring comes the FEVER crate, which offers players retro ‘70s and ‘80s outfits. Why you’d want to look like you’re on your way to the local disco in a game where you’re supposed to hide in the bushes and extinguish human life at the end of a barrel (or a frying pan) is beyond me, but now it’s an option.

The FEVER crates can be purchased directly with BattlePoints (BP) and can be unlocked via Early Bird keys if you still have any or are willing to buy one on the Steam Community pages. Inside the crate are a number of unique fashion choices, including a mesh polo short, hi-top canvas sneakers, and even a corset. Y’know, for ensuring that perfect hourglass figure while you’re knee-deep in bullets.

The other crate you can get is the MILITIA crate, and as the name implies it’s a little more militaristic in nature. MILITIA crates contain pieces of either the “Erangel resistance force outfit” or the “Miramar frontiersman outfit.”

The Erangel resistance outfit looks to be a Soviet-era inspired officer’s uniform with aviator sunglasses. Meanwhile, the Miramar frontiersman outfit seems to be inspired by a mishmash of sources. First, the red leather jacket is basically from Tyler Durden in Fight Club, while the black turtleneck and black leather pants could be from any number of spy films. The white cowboy hat finishes off the eclectic look with a little Hispanic panache.

The MILITIA crate has been added to the standard four crates that you can get whenever you roll for one with the new odds of each crate as follows:

SURVIVOR: 10%

WANDERER: 10%

BIKER: 20%

DESPERADO: 20%

MILITIA (New): 40%

And remember, if you grabbed some of these items on the test server they do not carry over to the live servers. So remember to spend your BP wisely.
