There are many operators in Rainbow Six: Siege that utilize traps as their core ability; however, Frost’s trap is the deadliest because an enemy that gets stuck in one of her welcome mats is immediately downed and close to death. Frost is classified as a defender operator.

Playing Frost isn’t particularly challenging; however, there are many important strategies that you should utilize if you want to compete against other competitive players. These strategies include how to use her welcome mats effectively and what type of weaponry she should be equipped with so that you can quickly defeat every attacker that comes your way in Rainbow Six: Siege.

10 Cover Your Welcome Mats With Barbed Wire

Welcome mats are a great way to trap and down an enemy in this FPS video game; however, they are quite large in appearance, and it is easy for an enemy to see one and avoid or shoot it. Fortunately, there is a work-around for this problem.

If you equip barbed wire as your extra gadget and you place it down on the spot where your welcome mat is located, then it will be much harder for an enemy to see your welcome mat, and it is more likely that they will accidentally stumble into it.

9 Partner With Smoke To Trap Enemies More Easily

Smoke is a powerful character because of his ability to trap an enemy in a poisonous smoke cloud. This ability can be paired with Frost’s welcome mats to easily trap an enemy that can barely see and is trying to get out of the gas as quickly as possible.

For this strategy, Frost should place her welcome mats around a room and then have Smoke set up his poisonous gas around where the welcome mats are placed. Then when an enemy walks into the room, Smoke can activate the gas, and the enemy will most likely stumble into one of Frost’s traps.

8 Stay Close To Your Welcome Mats

Some players enjoy roaming around the map during a match; however, it is important to stay close to your welcome mats while playing as Frost.

Frost’s welcome mats require somebody to be monitoring them since an enemy that gets stuck on one can be easily revived if they aren’t quickly finished off.  Staying in close range of all 3 welcome mats is incredibly important for her ability to succeed, and making sure to place all of the traps relatively close to each other is also important.

7 Equip A Dark Outfit

Frost is a character that needs to hide and wait for an enemy to get stuck in her traps. As such, equipping a dark outfit is important so that she can hide from enemies and utilize the darker spots on the map during a match. Each operator has a ton of different outfits to unlock.

Although it can be fun to equip more colorful outfits, it is advisable to only use darker outfits while playing a match competitively and striving to win.

6 Use The Silenced Mk1 9mm Pistol As Your Secondary Weapon

The Mk1 9mm pistol is the best secondary weapon for Frost, especially while she is trying to silently kill enemies. Equipping this pistol is important; however, equipping the silencer onto it is also vital since Frost often needs to kill enemies silently after they get stuck in her welcome mats.

For players that don’t enjoy using pistols, Frost also has a shotgun. However, the shotgun simply isn’t as useful for a character like Frost as a silenced pistol is.

5 Avoid Using Explosives Around The Welcome Mats

Using explosive weapons such as grenades and C-4 around Frost’s welcome mats is tricky because they can easily destroy a mat if the explosion occurs within the range of the mat.

You should also be careful of enemy explosives since they can quickly destroy Frost’s traps in a single hit. Avoiding explosives altogether around the traps is a good idea; however, if you have to use explosives, then try to pick up the welcome mat before they detonate.

4 Use The 9MM-C1 As Your Primary Weapon

The 9MM-C1 SMG is a very powerful weapon, and it is widely considered to be Frost’s most powerful weapon for the average player. If you are playing competitively, then you should learn how to use this weapon so that you can utilize Frost’s full strength while competing against other players.

The extended barrel attachment is useful if you prefer to take out enemies from a distance, and it can be especially helpful while trying to kill enemies that are near the objective while you are far away from it.

3 Place Welcome Mats Next To Windows And Around Doorways

Placing welcome mats in front of doorways seems like an obvious way to position them; however, there are two other places to place traps so that enemies get stuck in them.

Placing welcome mats next to windows is an easy way to down an enemy since they won’t see it until they enter the building. Alternatively, placing welcome mats to the side of doorways can sometimes be better than placing them directly in front of the doorway since a player will enter the room and then move to the side, never getting a chance to see the trap.

2 Team Up With Lesion To Kill Enemies Quickly

Lesion is another operator that uses traps to distract and damage enemies. Lesion’s traps don’t deal as much damage as Frost’s traps, but you can pair them with the welcome mats to create a deadly combo.

Lesion should place his traps down right behind Frost’s mats so that if an enemy gets revived, they will swiftly be defeated by Lesion’s trap since the enemy that the welcome mat caught will have barely any health left.

1 Don’t Rush While Using Frost

Rushing while using Frost is a bad idea because she is a two-speed, two-armor operator. This means that Frost works best at medium range from the objective and that moving towards the enemy is a bad idea since she doesn’t have enough health to compete against three-armor attackers.

Although you can rush enemies with Frost if it’s necessary, it isn’t advisable, especially since there won’t be anyone to kill the downed enemy if an attacker gets stuck in her welcome mat.
