In the ever-changing gameplay of Rainbow Six Siege, every map provides a unique set of tactical challenges for players to learn and overcome. Bank is a particularly difficult map to master. Being a large, multi-story building, there are a lot of different strategies that can be applied to its various locations.

You must be aware of the hatch locations, where people like to hide, and what operators can perform at their best at which locations. These operators won’t always be the best choice, but paired with the right strategy, they can give you the edge you need to dominate this map.

10 ATTACK: Hibana

Hibana’s gadget, the X-KAIROS, provides strong control on this map. With three charges, her gadget can blow most of the hatches on any level, adding significant pressure to the defending team. Alternatively, you can also punch holes through reinforced walls to open common hiding spots. Since you can shoot your gadget multiple times before actually detonating the pellets, you can confuse the defenders by opening multiple holes at once.

Hibana is an overall great operator, but she does particularly well when the defense is hiding in the server room. There are three hatches that can give a tactical advantage to your team when destroyed, and let you get some easy kills on the enemy team.

9 DEFENSE: Mira

Mira is a situational pick, not to be chosen without a solid strategy in place. But if your team is going to the basement in the bank, then she’s an excellent pick. There are a lot of walls down there which can be an advantage to the attackers if you don’t have vision. Mira can provide that vision with her Black Mirror.

You can try fortifying half of a wall to protect yourself and your mirror, while still being able to shoot at any incoming attackers. This strategy comes with some risks, but, in the hands of an experienced Mira player, can result in some powerful plays during a match. But be careful. Mira’s speed is only one. With high armor, she serves well as an anchor, but roaming is a certain way to get yourself eliminated from the round.

8 ATTACK: Thermite

Thermite is the classic hard breacher. Unlike Hibana, Thermite’s Exothermic Charge can blast through whole walls, rather than small holes. It’s best to save his gadget for reinforced walls whenever possible, as it’s very obvious when he’s breaching, and the defenders can simply shoot his gadget if it’s placed on a soft wall.

He can truly shine when the defenders choose the CEO’s office. Upstairs, the main point of attack comes from the east side, giving defenders an easy way to defend themselves. But with Thermite, he can quickly, and safely, breach through the west walls, enabling operators to approach from all sides.

7 DEFENSE: Valkyrie

This requires a great deal of map awareness, but once you understand your surroundings you can contribute a lot of intel using Valkyrie’s Black Eye cameras, particularly when you’re defending the archive and teller rooms. Her cameras greatly expand the scope of your vision and can help you alert your team when the attackers are starting to close in.

If you choose to bring a nitro cell, you can pull off some outstanding plays. Check your cameras to see if someone’s in range. If it’s safe, you can throw the nitro straight at them and detonate it before they even know what happened, or plant it somewhere on the ceiling and place a camera upstairs. When you see someone standing over the trap, hit the button for an easy kill.

6 ATTACK: Buck

There are a few instances where Buck isn’t a great choice. In a large building like the bank with a lot of soft floor space, Buck can terrify and disorientate the enemy with his gadget, the Skeleton Key. Shooting through the ceiling can reveal normally good hiding spots, allowing you to get the drop on the defenders from above.

The same applies when approaching the upper floors from below. If you have good map awareness, you can find the common hiding spots and blast the floor out from under them.

5 DEFENSE: Bandit

Hibana and Thermite can make a lot of trouble for defenders. To counter this, it’s good to have someone on your team that can help keep your walls up. Bandit’s Shock Wire electrifies walls and prevents any sort of gadget being used against them.

With the base secured, feel free to roam around the building, hunting down the attackers. With maxed speed and arguably the best shotgun in the game, you can quickly eliminate any threats you encounter. Shotgun a few hatches to quickly get behind the enemy, and take them out.

4 ATTACK: Capitão

Capitão is a great positioner. Using the smoke from his tactical crossbow, you can get yourself and your teammates in and out of dangerous situations without the defenders knowing what’s happening. With his fire gadget, you can force a defender out of a well-protected position into the open, damaging their health and leaving them vulnerable. With some careful planning, you might trick someone into running out of a burning room straight into a well-placed claymore.

Capitão can be particularly useful in the office and open area. There are a lot of places for defenders to hide in this area and one room that can be a death sentence for anyone caught by Capitão fire.

3 DEFENSE: Echo

In Japan, yokai are spirits and demons that often torment the living, which is an accurate description of Echo’s gadget. His two yokai can roam around on the ground and reposition. Then they fly up to hang on the ceiling, cloaking themselves. These drones aren’t just for surveillance, though they do help with that. They can also be used to disorient attackers, making it harder for them to see or aim straight.

You can either use the yokai to help you or your team score a kill or blast an attacker to dissuade them from entering from a certain entrance. In the open area, these drones can contribute a lot to the chaos. Just pick a spot where they won’t be noticed, and try to move them whenever you think they might have been spotted to keep the enemy from destroying them.

2 ATTACK: Thatcher

One of the most effective operators, Thatcher is always a strong pick. He might not always be the most optimal pick, but you’ll never find yourself being unable to contribute with his unique gadget, the EMP Grenade.

His grenades can permanently destroy all sorts of operator gadgets and can temporarily disable cameras as well. With a single blast, you might find that you’ve taken out a door trap from Kapkan, an ADS from Jäger, a Grzmot Mine from Ela, and a Yokai might drop from the ceiling. Careful use of this operator’s gadget can help neutralize most of what the defending team has, leading to a quick, easy victory.

1 DEFENSE: Jäger

An easy operator to pick up if you’re new to the game, Jäger can immediately help his team secure the objective and keep people from having to worry about grenades. One worry any anchor has is being caught by a well-placed grenade throw.

With ADS up, you won’t need to worry. As long as the attackers don’t destroy it, they have enough charges to wipe out nearly every grenade, flashbang, or smoke grenade that will be thrown their way. Jäger is an excellent choice for just about every situation.
