For players who just can’t get enough of the global shelter-in-place orders, Rainy Season is an upcoming indie title that will keep you busy within the confines of your own home.

Rainy Season - from developer/publisher Inasa Fujio - was featured in this year’s Wholesome Direct Indie Game Showcase. The game takes place in a seemingly ordinary Japanese house with a family stuck inside due to a major rainstorm. Players will be able to explore the quaint home in a first-person perspective while interacting with objects and family members as the rain beats against the windows. Yet, nothing is quite as it seems within the house, as shown in the exclusive clip during the Wholesome Direct.

Besides other family members, players will also apparently encounter at least one apparition that made its way into the house by mistake. The short clip features a quick and funny conversation between the monster and the little boy (who appears to be the playable character). There’s nothing scary or ominous about the interaction - that would be a weird thing to be categorized as a Wholesome game. It’s just an innocent conversation of mistaken location.

Not much else is known about Rainy Season, including its release date, which only indicates a summer 2020 launch. Be sure to wishlist the game on Steam for more updates as they are released.
