Red Dead Online is introducing two new Legendary Animals that players will be able to track, study, and hunt - the Legendary Mud Runner Buck and the Snow Buck.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s online component now also features the Naturalist role, thanks to the game’s recent update. Said update also introduced a bunch more new Legendary Animals to the game, and now we have a further two to add to the already-extensive list.
First we have the Legendary Mud Runner Buck, which can apparently be found by the Heartland’s Flat Iron Lake. Then we have the Legendary Snow Buck that you should look out for around the Aurora Basin in West Elizabeth. Both apparently are inclined towards daylight and dry weather conditions.
Like with the other Legendary Animals in the game, you could hunt them and bring their pelts to Gus who will be offering 50% bonus payouts for either of these Legendary Animals’ carcasses or pelts.
That means that the Mud Runner Coat and the Snow Coat can now be crafted from their respective Legendary Bucks once you deliver them to Gus. Both animals come with Naturalist role bonuses if you sample them, and can also get you 50% more RDO$, Character XP, and Role XP if you decide to deliver them to Harriet.
This week we’ll also be seeing some new Emotes (including Hypnotize, Sniff, and Cougar Snarl, apparently), bonuses, offers, and rewards entering the game. Plus there’s the debut of both the Hardcore Series (wherein players must compete without Ability Cards or Consumables), and the Wildlife Photographer Free Roam Event in which players will compete to take the best (and most) wildlife photographs.
So if you’re keen to chase after some of these skittish critters and get some goodies in return, why not have a look at one of our handy guides to help you hunt them down?
