It has been one wild ride for Red Dead Online fans this entire month, with players dressing as clowns in protest of their treatment by Rockstar, coupled with a seemingly lackluster new update that invites the Naturalist role to the game. Adding to the growing list of faults plaguing this open-world western, it would appear a slew of awesome content slated for late October has leaked in full online.

Posse up, as the nightmare has only just begun.

These leaked images come provided via French Twitter user Rockstar Actu, who writes in a post translated from their native language:

Titled with that catchy outlaw verbiage, “Celebrating the Season of the Strange and Supernatural: The Halloween Pass,” this content drop itself appears to have some stellar character cosmetic items, like an eerie face bandage that covers the player’s eyes and some bloodied hand bandages, which could potentially be used as gauntlets of some kind. In Red Dead Online fashion, there are also some interesting horse cosmetics, as well, which feature terrifying face covers, like a gory animal skin hide and a Day of the Dead version.

“Various things were found in the update files, including some Halloween content. We should have a new outlaw pass after October 19, a machete and a special halloween theme in the distillery bar among others.”

A separate Twitter user has a far better grouping of images, showcasing the new bar distillery theme in all of its menacing glory, in addition to a new rifle skin. There’s also a melee weapon, pictured below, that looks like a sword taken straight out of Bloodborne.

Yet another French-based leak likewise adds to the stack of piling rumors, claiming this Halloween pass could not only invite all of this sweet new content but also zombies. The English translation invites intrigue with the mention of zombie audio files hidden in the leaked pass, coupled with house appropriation, customization, and selling, in addition to a new role called “Rancher Boss.” There’s also even rumor of a Rockstar Editor, reminiscent of GTA Online’s own version.

Those hardcore frontiersmen and outlaws may well remember last year’s content drop for Halloween, which featured a horrifying slaughter mask and a legendary bounty, named Philip Carlier. It seems as though Rockstar is finally getting the message in terms of upping the ante and pushing the envelope of content for players, as in-game clowns and dwindling interest seems to have finally paid off. And, if those zombie rumors are true, it will be a love letter to long-time series fans who will never forget playing that terrifying Undead Nightmare DLC from the original.

Despite the need for some extreme patience, this forthcoming Halloween-based Red Dead Online content pack serves as a beacon of hope for long-time fans and a terrifying reentry point for those who may have long left the title. That skull sword, for one, should be a major draw.
