One way to get rich fast in Red Dead Redemption 2’s story mode is by following treasure maps, and the same holds true for Red Dead Online, which recently entered its beta phase. However, treasure maps work a little bit differently in Red Dead Online when compared to Red Dead Redemption 2 proper.
Players can get treasure maps as rewards when they level up in Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode. When they hit level 10, they will get the Bard’s Crossing treasure map as a reward from the postman. Checking the map will reveal an area between Bard’s Crossing and Flatneck Station that’s highlighted in yellow, and the treasure is located somewhere in that general vicinity.
The treasure in question is a chest filled with cash and gold nuggets, which can eventually become gold bars if players collect enough of them. At any rate, some players have had difficulty locating the chest, even when using the Eagle Vision technique of clicking in both the left and right analog sticks. For those individuals, we have marked the four possible chest locations that Red Dead Online players have discovered so far.
As players explore the area where the Bard’s Crossing treasure chest can spawn, they will notice their controller vibrate as they get closer. So we recommend traveling to the different marked areas on the map above, and if there is no controller vibration, go to a different one. Unless there’s more possible locations where the chest can spawn, players will eventually find it by looking at the four locations on the map above.
As previously stated, finding the Bard’s Crossing treasure will yield some cash and gold nuggets. If players manage to collect 100 gold nuggets, they can get one gold bar, which is Red Dead Online’s primary in-game currency. Eventually, Rockstar Games will make it possible to purchase gold bars using real world money, but that has yet to be implemented at the time of this writing.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
