A new week brings new deals in Red Dead Online. This week has a focus on the Collector specialization, with Madam Naza paying out 1.5X RDO$ on all sales of complete collectible sets and giving twice as much XP for discovering new collectibles. All Collectors will also receive three Tarot Cards, while those below rank 20 will get 1000 Collector XP. And if you doggedly drag your rank up five times or are above Rank 15, you’ll receive a free Collector’s Map and two Treasure Maps.
But besides all the new Collector goodies, Rockstar has some words for the upcoming summer update, which will apparently open up “all kinds of new unlawful ventures will emerge for those willing to comport themselves in a certain — morally flexible — manner.”
The only thing Rockstar would confirm was that Red Dead Online’s summer update will let you rob a homestead in free roam and also provide an all-new membership rewards club card. Other than that, we just have vague hints about “new avenues of personal enrichment” that are “devoid of upfront expenditures.” Which brings a whole bunch of potential careers to mind, come to think of it.
Rockstar is probably referring to the more violent forms of wealth accrual. Its May update revealed Guido Martelli — Angelo Bronte’s trusted lieutenant — is working on creating his own criminal empire built on “intimidation, unsavory crimes, or larger, high-stakes robberies.”
We’re fast approaching the official start of summer, so this update is likely to drop in the coming weeks. Perhaps we’ll hear more about it as part of Take-Two’s E3 presentation.
In the meantime, this week also brings 2X RDO$ and XP on Featured Series games, including Hostile Territory, Name Your Weapon, Plunder, and Team Shootouts. Discounts can also be found from Madam Nazar on the Collector’s Bag, which is 5 gold bars cheaper than usual, and a 40% discount on the Pennington Field Shovel, Metal Detector, and Refined Binoculars.
