In the violent world of Red Dead Redemption 2, players face danger from all sides. There are grizzly bears, rival gangs, and angry sheriffs, all of which want the player dead. But despite all of this, one of the most common ways to die in Red Dead Redemption 2 is accidentally walking off a cliff. A new glitch has been discovered to save players from falling to their death, but it’s gross enough that for some, death might be a preferable alternative.

The glitch is known as “vomit roping” and it’s as disgusting as it sounds. Red Dead Redemption 2 is famous for its realistic features, like character’s beards growing over time, so of course bodily functions are in the game. There are certain items, that if consumed, will cause the player to vomit. If a player eats one of these items and then walks off a cliff, the player will vomit the whole way down, but will not take any fall damage.

A video of the glitch was posted to YouTube earlier this month. In the video, the player consumes a vanilla flower, waits a second, and then jumps off a cliff. The player starts to shoots out vomit, which becomes a long stream, hence the name “vomit roping.” The fall should have killed the player, but he lands at the bottom of the cliff completely unharmed, although maybe with a stomachache. While there might be more useful glitches in the game, like the infinite money glitch, none of them are as delightfully gross as this one.

This glitch takes a little bit of finesse to pull off. The player has to time falling off the cliff with the start of the vomit animation. The glitch presumably works because the player is already in a unique animation state while falling, so when they hit the ground the game doesn’t register the fall damage. While it’s not as weird as the glitch that removes all of the animals from Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s still very funny to watch.

While it may save players from falling to their deaths, vomiting won’t help the player loose weight, so unfortunately there’s no way to kill two birds with one stone. But still, this is one of the most unique glitches that has been found in Red Dead Redemption 2 so far. Players should give it a try themselves, although maybe not if they have weak stomachs.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PC, Stadia, PS4, and Xbox One.
