For one Reddit user, this game is Red Dead Redemption 2 and they shared on the platform their awesome story about the game, which led to a chance encounter with a famous actor.

In the Reddit post, the user shared a unique story when their girlfriend (now fiance) moved in after the user purchased a PlayStation 4 bundled with Red Dead Redemption 2. During their long gameplay, the user’s girlfriend was able to knit a full quilt and often influenced the player’s choices to steer Arthur to make honorable decisions. However, during a visit to New York City, the player and his fiance had an encounter with famous actor John Lithgow, who is known for his roles in films such as Interstellar, and as Winston Churchill in Netflix’s The Crown.

Soon after, a younger man sat beside Lithgow and gave him a Father’s Day present, which revealed that the man is Lithgow’s son. He then proceeded to tell his father about Red Dead Redemption 2, specifically the character Sadie Adler, who plays a central role in the game. After John Lithgow left, the Reddit user proceeded to talk to Lithgow’s son, not about his award-winning father, but about Red Dead Redemption 2. It was in this conversation where Lithgow Jr. revealed that he is good friends with Sadie’s voice actor, and how he is interested in the game even though he still hasn’t played it.

Fast forward to when the coronavirus pandemic hit the world, which severely affected the video game industry like many others, the player’s girlfriend insisted that they do another playthrough of the game just because she misses Arthur so much. In the end, it is in unique stories such as this one that shows just how much Red Dead Redemption 2 made an impact on its players, which led to its critical and commercial success.

Apart from its immersive story and well-fleshed out characters, Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a vast open-world environment that allows players to explore and discover its unique secrets. Interestingly enough, even though Red Dead Redemption 2 is almost two years old, players are still finding unique details that reveal just how much blood and sweat Rockstar Games have poured into the game.
