There’s no doubt that Red Dead Redemption II’s mounts are among its best features, but why stop at just riding horses? For less than ten dollars a month, you can cowboy it up with a mod that turns your horse into a massive pig, an oversized wolf, or best of all—a gigantic cougar.
JulioNB, a modder some gamers might recognize from his infamous contributions to the Grand Theft Auto scene, is branching out into Red Dead Redemption scene with the “RDR2 Pig Rider wtf” mod.
The mod allows you to set off on your Old West adventures straddling the back of a gigantic pig. However, while the hog is the mod’s centerpiece, you can also wrangle a bear, wolf, or cougar. JulioNB has posted screencaps and videos of each of the mounts in action, and they’re absolute units. The pig mount is so big that Arthur standing upright—cowboy hat included—is barely taller than it.
So far, the Pig Rider mod appears to be entirely cosmetic. Anything you can do with a horse, you can do with a pig. Because the mod is still a work in progress, only players subscribed to JulioNB’s Patreon can download and try it out. Pledging $5 should be enough to unlock the mod in its beta stage—a small price to pay if you’re too excited to wait for the official release!
