One Redditor with a lot of time on their hands discovered the entire drop rate for the Digging Duo in Pokémon Sword & Shield.
As their name implies, there are two Digging Duo brothers, with one focused on stamina at the cost of rewards and the other focused on rewards at the cost of stamina. Most just go with the more reward-focused brother as he has a better chance of providing you with rare stuff like fossils, evolution stones, and other neat stuff.
But just how good an investment is this Digging Duo brother, anyway? Nintendo has never released statistics, but thanks to one extremely enterprising Redditor, they don’t have to.
User zomglookup spent 581,500 Watts in the pursuit of figuring out just what exactly the rare-focused Digger’s drop rate is. Over 1,160 runs and 3,136 items later, we have our answer.
The chart below details just what you can expect to find when handing over your hard-earned Watts to the Digging Duo brother. Easily the most common reward is the Rare Bone with a drop rate of 22.54%, while the Fossil Bird is next in line at 7.59%. The Comet Shard comes in third at 7.05%.
On the other side of the bell curve is the Gold Bottle Cap wich has a drop rate of just 0.03%. It could be lower, however, as zomglookup only got a single Gold Bottle Cap in 1,163 rolls.
And in case you were wondering what zomglookup did with all those Rare Bones, he sold most of them for around 2 million Poké Bucks. That’s certainly one way to get rich in Pokémon Sword & Shield.
