Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is set to launch with 37 new songs that will be added to the 18 tracks from the original release. The new tracks, from artists like Reel Big Fish (She’s Famous Now), A Tribe Called Quest (Can I Kick It), Machine Gun Kelly (Bloody Valentine), and Sublime (Same In The End), were announced during a virtual concert on the Noisey YouTube channel.

Hawk, 52, was the National Skateboard Association world champion for twelve consecutive years. A professional skateboarder at 14, he revolutionized the sport by becoming the first skateboarder to land a 900, which involves the completion of two-and-a-half mid-air revolutions, in 1999.

The new soundtrack pays tribute to his heyday by featuring a selection of tracks ranging from ’90s rap to ska punk. The original two games, which had more than 30 tracks, were met with critical acclaim. The remaster, which represents five decades of skating as well as the diversity of skating culture, includes songs from more than half a dozen countries.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will feature all of the levels and skaters from the original games and include enhanced skater and park creation modes and online multiplayer, as well as, ‘The Ripper’ skater from Powell-Peralta®, exclusive retro outfits for Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero and Rodney Mullen, and unique retro content for the Create-A-Skater mode.

The original game, developed by Neversoft and published by Activision, was released in 1999, first for PlayStation and then for Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast, and N-Gage. It has spawned 18 titles, including 10 main series titles, 4 spin-offs, and 4 repackages. The PlayStation versions of the game and its successor were the third and second highest-selling console games of 2000, respectively.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be released on September 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Players who pre-order the remaster will gain access to a demo of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’s Warehouse, the first level of the original game. The demo will be available on August 14, according to the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 PlayStation Store listing. Also, the full list of new songs can be streamed on Spotify.
