If you’d like to relive the glory days of anime, you can download RetroCrush to re-watch Medabots for the bajillionth time. That’s not weird, right?
Most of us here in North America remember Medabots from the cartoon series that aired from 2001 to 2004, but it actually got its start as a Game Boy game. Following the success of Pokémon, a game where young children collect magical creatures to fight in competitive battles, Medabots has young children collect highly advanced artificial intelligences to also fight in competitive battles.
Medabots has been on every Nintendo platform since the original Game Boy (including the Switch with the recently announced Medabots collection), but since it was vastly overshadowed by Pokémon, few remember it.
You probably only care about the cartoon anyhow. So here’s where you can watch it for free.
Second, wait until August 21. That’s when the first season arrives on RetroCrush and when you can start watching it.
RetroCrush also recently acquired the rights to start streaming The Fantastic Adventures of Unico (August 7), Unico in the Island of Magic (August 7), Arcadia of My Youth (August 14), Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX (August 14), Swan Lake (August 21), and Dear Brother (August 28).
According to Anime News Network, RetroCrush plans to also offer TV shows that have never been seen on streaming services outside of Japan, so prepare for some weird and wacky stuff.
