The latest trailer for psychological horror Remothered: Broken Porcelain by Stormind Games and Darril Arts is out, and it looks simply terrifying.
Broken Porcelain is the second game in the Remothered trilogy by Italian studios Stormind Games, the first one of course being 2018’s Tormented Fathers. The latter snuck onto the horror scene and proceeded to win over the hearts of many fans of the genre as a kind of spiritual successor to Clocktower, with some good ol’ Silent Hill undertones thrown in too. Our protagonist here also, incidentally, shares the name of the infamous Rule of Rose’s own protagonist, Jennifer.
A third installment is planned, but unfortunately we know no more than that at this stage. But let’s not get too greedy.
Broken Porcelain is up next, but its release has had a bit of a bumpy ride thanks to the effects of the global pandemic. The game was originally meant to be coming out on August 25th, but publisher Modus Games along with the developers made the call to push the release date by two months. Doing so is giving them that much more time to get the game as polished as possible before unleashing it, after undoubtedly enduring some coronavirus-induced blows.
And we’re quite certain the wait will be worth it, if the above trailer is anything to go by. We’re seeing visuals that are more spruced-up than the game’s predecessor, some really haunting imagery, and a general air of “what the actual crap is going on,” which is always greatly welcomed in the case of horror games.
The trailer showcases what appears to be the Ashmann Inn, along with some of its residents. At one point, one girl assures us that, “if you get transferred here, it means you are a real problem.” Sounds inviting enough! Then we’re treated to a barrage of disturbingly juicy scenes which you should certainly rather experience for yourself.
Remothered: Broken Porcelain is due to release on October 20th, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
